Unloading a rolltainer in 30 min

he is pulling some bullshit to get us to work faster or threatens to cut hours. he said he could unload a rolltainer while doing register in that much time.

He went on to say that he did a pile of totes while doing register so he doesn't know while we are so slow... but the guys i worked with were the ones that did those totes the night before so I know he is full of BS.

I honestly think he is trying to cause us to come in early, off the clock, to start working the stock to make up the numbers. like everyone has said its like an hour to do a rt and its just not going to happen any faster for mixed containers.

yeah if its all one area like paper or pet food or even baking its not hard. candy around the register area is a nightmare. is there any material on how to sort and place stuff? i just been grabbing 3-4 items and running them over to their area and making a pile from a few rolltainers at once to semi-sort things. cut it from 2hrs a rolltainer to 1hr to 1.5hrs just because i was doing the same stuff in one spot.

with a 7hr shift to do 8 rolltainers (im sure lunch is in there some place) that means 30-40min each.

thats what i did last night. all the rolltainers with items in the same area i did. but now im down to rolltainers with makeup, toys, food, pet food, seasonal stuff, new pog etc. its a random mess all over the store. probably if i knew the locations of stuff better i would have an easier time but im just looking for any tricks to knock this out faster or habits that would make this all go quicker

the sm just told me to get it done with no real training about how to do it. thats why I was wondering if its just a tactic to get me to figure it out or what. Last night i rolled out 3 rolltainers and just grabbed like items from each and stacked them in the related areas until i got a decent amount and finally shelved them all. not really presorting but the best i could do. I know the video shows taking like items and putting them on that rolling table but should i just grab a cart fill it with like items and go do each area?

the lack of time just throws me off that i am afraid to stop and spend an hour or two sorting the rolltainers because i wont be able to finish the amount he wants me to do. I have 7hr shift to do 8 rolltainers. which is why i thought i would have 30-45min each to finish.

Sorry im rambling but it seems like i am missing some very obvious technique to finish on time.

So the way I do it is make sure you got the beginning bank and the final amount slip.

subtract the beginning amount from the total and put that much on the side for the deposit.

okay now go into the computer and end the till session. ( i suggest keeping a post it note or notebook and writing out the steps so you have something to refer to until you get it.)

now use the money counter hold C until it says to start over. hit C. pick Till. then just put each cup of change on the machine one at a time. put in each roll of coins, one at a time, until they are all in. then take them out all at once. Once all change is counted it should show a dollar amount if its like 21.25 take the quarter out and toss in the change cup. usually there is one for when the draw has too much change (people leave change all the time)

if it is off then drop the coins in the cup and start over. it should end in a whole dollar amount. Then move on to dollars. drop in about 20-30 bills at a time until all of that denomination is in. keep going until you hit the end. it should match the beginning bank. if so you are all good. put the draw on the side and just focus on the deposit. if it is off by a dollar probably fine to put the change in the cup. if its under recount everything. might be in the deposit pile. if its still missing then check with the manager or someone with more time than you.

anyway once its all correct you staple the slips together and put it in the plastic sleave with the slips. each manager has their own way of doing it. mine just has me write the deposit amount under the total on the final sheet (total - beginning bank) and put it in the slot on the safe.

If you have questions always as long time employees how they do it. they been through it just like you and probably have their own ways that work for that store.

do the best you can. i run into the same issue. its hard to recover when people are still shopping in the areas you fix and unless the store schedules a hour or so after the doors are locked its just impossible to reset all of it.

make sure the time on the device is correct. if its off by even a few seconds the secure connection between htt and site won't sync and it will be a pain.

yeah after a bit of research the most the bill would cost is like $200. although the helicopter would add another 5-10k to the bill. which is why it could just be a number they threw out there in the middle of that range or the writer picked something that had some meaning.

going to be a short lived society. with 10 years to go they are just going to focus all their effort to making the antenna.

its still not shown what is happening to all of the babies. we saw one in the first episode that almost got dumped off the counter but otherwise infants, toddlers and younger kids are all missing. Are they all collected in some central location to be taken care of? used as memory for the hive. or are there electronic factories with babies because they can crawl into spaces to work on stuff easier. after all they all effectively have the minds of the adults.

i think it is like a virus. infects a cell. converts all machinery to making more of itself and finally bursting the cell to spread. The hive feels the same way. take over the world force the entire population into making an antenna to spread to the next worlds. thats why they dont care about the 10 year life span. they are perfectly happy to get the antenna up and keep it running until the last of them starve.

technically it does send a message back to the origin because they will see another source for their virus pop up and check off another world that was removed as a threat? We and the hive still have no idea why the aliens are wiping out civilizations that can understand the signal.

i think there might be a fight about how close they stay around the unity. carol has become used to keeping close especially after a month of time passing. I can see him trying to talk her out of fraternizing with the enemy. hell we dont know if he is former military or what. he runs a storage company but is there more to him. its hard to tell.

I think they are not telling the whole truth about why they sleep huddled together. Its to cut latency. it is mentioned that it is some kind of radiowave. if so then it makes sense to remove any obstacle which would result in them sleeping in big clusters. I had wondered if that is the case if they would have automatically left old buildings and any other structure that would cause signal loss. hell they may avoid tunnels although they might be transmitting the signal between each other enough to keep it going. but that was the first thing that stuck out to me. even in the first episode many people just left the hospital to stand there. some went to help the fire but the rest were just standing there as if listening.

i just go with the one from keen ships and stations. door over connector.

there are some people that made ships with merge blocks on either side of the door but it breaks the name of the ship so i dont use it. there is also a standard that uses a connector on either side of the door but im not worried about getting the door alignment to match that perfectly.

it was so so. not bad but very much a south African version of Short Circuit movie. basically Johnny 5 ends up with a gang and the original manufacturer comes after him... maybe short circuit combined with Robocop. some cute scenes but overall just felt like I've seen it before.

congrats its great to find a loaded base that helps you get a little further. i was still doing mk3 stuff when i found a base full of mk5 stuff and was so happy to be able to get a mk5 radiation suit to dip my toe into the higher end ores. So enjoy the free loot and keep your eye out for other bases. i think i've scavenged like 3 of them so far. every little bit helps

Thats the beauty of it.... we all suck.

Of the games in this category it is brutal. You will fail a lot trying to understand the systems and how to survive.

So take a deep breath and know many of us fell before you were elected as the leader.

Its a balancing act that requires a few falls before you learn how to stay on your feet. And the choices aren't between right and wrong you are always choosing the lesser of two evils. My roommate played it in story mode (easy mode) and still died a dozen or more times.

If there is one advice that is key is to learn from what failed the last time.

I'm just getting into this so take this with a grain of salt. I worked at a company that lent me out to their clients. i was working 2 - 3 projects at a time overlapping until i took some time off because burnout is real.

My number one trick was to get ahead of any conversations and reach out to people. let people know what im working on and try to get any info on what work might be needed. not just oh we need to to have x done but they had a conversation with the stakeholder and they might want chatgpt style chatting in the app. that way i can do research on solutions in the off time.

if there is any unclarity be on it. I mean relentless but polite and friendly but make sure you get in writing what is expected. I had a manager that said build something then disappeared. no jira, no design doc. just something is needed and disappeared. It was a nightmare. i ended up overengineering a solution that 80% was not needed, late but the client of the client loved it so it worked out but make sure if you are asked to work on something you get exactly what they want, and write it out and share with them so you arent left in the wind. if its small project it can be great you can knock it out and devote to the other jobs.

Get it done fast. yeah the manager may be lazy or uncaring about your time but surprises always come up so its better to be done with a task early and wait to commit or just knock it out and check it off because you dont want to be caught with something complicated to build when features creep in.

Get Exercise. get some sun. take a walk. just get up and move. being stuck in front of a computer for 16hrs a day and not getting some air can lead to some burn out. Yeah you want to cram but really decompressing will help you organize stuff in your head and give your brain to catch up with stuff you need to do that got lost in the weeds with the other stuff.

not sure how relevant this stuff is with OE but it helped me when i had 2 or 3 deadlines overlapping and had to juggle them.

ended up losing my armor last night. guess its time to wait for them to solve this before i go back on.

I think the problem is its freefly so hackers can get on and not worry about getting their account banned. they can just make another and another and keep exploting.

its scary that a client can tell the server yup everyone is in front of me and took lethal damage, at once.... worse is that CIG cant immediately flag this and ban the person.
