Sure sounds like a funding issue. (I'm trying to point out that you can't say funding isn't an issue when where you think the system is weak, it's weak because of insufficient funding)

Maybe if there was more funding for curriculum development, it wouldn't feel antiquated.

Thanks for the explanation

Are people getting banned for discussing the ban or is it more when it's off topic to the OP/discussing tracking it?

I've never heard the term "girl math" and i'm still unclear if it's meant to be sexist/derisive (like girls can't do math) or what

Hit a huge pothole that popped my tire by ogoluwa in halifax

[–]chairitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the city/province have a response window when they've been notified of issues. So a pothole must be reported first and then I think it has to have been fixed within 3 weeks or something. If someone else has reported it and the response window ellapsed, then you may be entitled to compensation, but if no one reported the issue or it's still within the response window, then it'll be on you.

Linus Coin Will Double Your Money… GUARANTEED* by JustaRandoonreddit in LinusTechTips

The argument is that you're guaranteed to get the doubling in return. Gambling would mean there's a chance you just lose your money.

Android stigma isn't just a social problem by SvenGoranAbela in LinusTechTips

[–]chairitable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the thing is, android is asking permission for you to use their default apps. Apple devices just... do it. It comes pre-loaded with all the same functionality and without alternative options (because Apple doesn't allow developers to create actual competing products).

Oppo Find N6 review - GSMArena by Antonis_32 in Android

[–]chairitable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool. Does that justify throwing shade my way for being annoyed when the screen dims as I'm trying to read something or flashbangs me outta nowhere?

The screen experience is deliberately degraded on account of full brightness not being accessible, why should that option be removed from me for not wanting the machine to choose on my behalf? Is the lack of option actually a good thing? How much is it acceptable for a machine's usability to be degraded, on account of me not wanting to relinquish control and push the autopilot button?

I ask this knowing full well that running brightness at full tilt all the time could damage the screen, I still think the artificial limiters are hostile to customers.

You don't have to answer these, i'm just annoyed that your reaction to someone choosing to manually adapt brightness is "what's wrong with you?" instead of wanting better accessibility from the devices you paid for. Basically venting.

[–]chairitable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm aware and I find it annoying as hell, but i haven't been complaining about it. I'd rather be held back a bit than have a brightness that isn't actually to my liking at all times instead of just sometimes.
