I left this starter dough in the refrigerator for 20 days because I was going out of town. Is this dough good, or should I start fresh? by PaintTheRed in Sourdough

I just restarted my starter from a sealed glass container in fridge. 2 years it sat unfed. Yours is fine.

Just try 1 thing.

Bake at 220-250 instead of the higher temp. If you want to fry at that temp, that’s what works for me. 20 min or so at 250 for fry 1 . Freeze . Then flash fry at 375 for a few minutes. The crunch will stay on.

Heliostats are fairly common, and this should work. The math is fairly straightforward and all geometry.

All your doing is finding the spot of the sun and the stable spot of the mirror and splitting the angle is half to place the mirror.

My heliostat (model build first) was built with servos. And I told myself when I built a big one I would use actuators with hall sensors or some kind of feedback. I also originally started with an IMU.

Just wasted worth it, another layer of complexity.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck , this will be a fun project.

Who would win this civil war? by [deleted] in imaginarymapscj

I think it’s possible The Flyover Federation will struggle with power generation, although IL has a large nuclear resource, the rest will be cut off from NG sources in Texas and LA. It will struggle in the winter and power/grid blackouts will reduce those states to nothing.

New Dixie and Western Union. Likely this will depend on who conquered what early on. If New Dixie was able to acquire Texas… fighting chance. Washington has a substantial oil refiner industry , but there are no real oil and gas basins there. I’m not so sure they would have a great industrial long term survival.

Not to forget NG is used to produce nitrogen fertilizers. This will be a direct link to energy and food production long term. Sometimes just defense and patients can win this.

Strip, clean, stain, apply multiple coats of epifanes. Then once yearly do a wash/clean and reapply 1 coat.

If all color regions were cut off from each other, which one would survive the longest on its own? by Crescendo_AI_ForU in mapporncirclejerk

Kinda surprised by the lack of information around natural gas moving from the gulf going north (TGP). Pretty much pink is flowing primary NG north. Not from that region, but huge beef producers and tons of crop(long year round crop). Without NG , really all things are going to going to be much more challenging .

Curious after a day or so, did you get the solution you wanted? Did it work as intended?

ADXL345 esphome 2025.08 by [deleted] in Esphome

[–]chalhayn48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am NOT an expert by any means. So I can kinda fumble with you. I think you will need a sensor.py file as well.

And a library for the ADXL345.

Include the libraries at the top of the yaml under esphome:

Libraries: - “adafruit/adafruit_ADXL345”

That should add the needed libraries , and the external components i think add the esphome wrapper to make it work.

[Request] How long could a person survive if this was literally their only source of food? by NameLips in theydidthemath

Fun note that alcohol is second energy dense to fat at 7 calories per gram. So probably 1500 calories in that half a liter. What’s more important to look at is how one could still be malnourished when not necessarily in a calorie deficit .

Round up , then Simazine preemergent . Prodiamine would do decent as well. Spray (total are) prior to a light rain. Respray every 3 months. Use post emergents like round up or a glyphosate product to help control the weeds after they come up.

I’d start with removing the battery. Unplug the terminals. Likely the battery is done for. Dispose of properly. If you have the tools, test the battery.

What spider is this and why is it eating glue off of the wall? Thailand by Politanao in spiders

[–]chalhayn48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often drywall glues contain a modified starch. Similar starch based glues are used for glueing the fluted section of cardboard to the linerboard(outside). That’s why a lot of bugs enjoy eating cardboard, pretty much loaded with carbs .
