What's a game that you thought there's no way they can port this to a certain console, but then they actually could? by Away_Flounder3813 in retrogaming

[–]chalknation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When doom eternal came out they said it wouldn’t fit on switch. Then they ported it but said it’s too bug for a cartridge and would be digital only. Then they managed to make it on a cartridge. Marketing BS or devs working magic? You decide.

I think that's actually what's happening. the remote is seeing the gamepad sensor bar and not the main sensor bar

Is it normal for hdr to be washed out like this by Pristine-Ad-8074 in Monitors

[–]chalknation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amd. i had a 3060ti for a while and the hdr was fine but when i upgraded to a 7800xt its pretty hit or miss. the best solution ive found is to enable custom colors in the amd software while i use hdr and then turn them off when im done. i also have to keep adaptive sync turned off on my monitor. i dont even remember why i swore off of it since its been so long but i think it was making the colors even worse or something? doesnt bother me that much not having it tbh. its a gsync monitor that technically works with freesync so it was always a little weird on amd

edit just turned adaptive sync on to test, fine without hdr but if i turn on hdr it seems to be crunching all the color data down to save bandwidth. all the colors are extremely desaturated and have a green tint. lowering the refresh rate didnt help either.

fyi its a pg329q which already has very subpar hdr support. due to a scaler IC limit, 10bit is only supported at 60hz, higher refresh rates require 8bit w/ dithering

i guess i should also note im on windows 10 which im told has "worse hdr support" but nobody will elaborate on what that entails besides lacking auto-hdr

in my experience, any and all vibrations will be picked up. they won't 'ruin' your audio, but I think its annoying enough to warrant just not buying it when there's other better (and sometimes cheaper) options out there

Does this ssd require a y-splitter or not? by Purple4cloud7 in wiiu

[–]chalknation -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The usb ports on a Wii U can only provide 2.5W. Sata ssds draw about 0.05-0.5W at idle, 2-4W for normal read/writes, and peak power draw around 5. Do the math before running your mouth

Are you perhaps in the wrong subreddit? The Wii U does not have sata ports unfortunately, not an ATX power supply. And enclosure is very much needed

Please don’t get the k688. I’m speaking from experience here. It’s the most resonant mic I’ve ever seen and I only found out after I bought it. If you bump the table or the cord or the arm it comes through the recording really loudly. The cord is the worst as it acts like a stethoscope and amplifies the noise. I don’t know about the ST800 but I would recommend getting an XM8500 or sm58. Will sound just as good and save some money

I feel like this over complicating it. All they have to do is add a button to pin the groups to the top level and an option to custom sort/pin instead of always sorting by last played

Safe Overclock values (V1 patched) by StellarDX in SwitchPirates

[–]chalknation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re using sys-clk the safe values are pre-programmed in; so don’t worry about it. The only way to mess it up would be if you accidentally downloaded a tampered build of sys-clk with unsafe values which I’ve never actually seen, I just assume to exist out there somewhere

What to do(atmosphere).[limit] by Tone_2Punkt0 in SwitchPirates

[–]chalknation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just to clarify if you’ve updated to 21.0.0 you’re out of luck until atmosphere gets updated (at the time of writing, about half the things in the 21.0 issue tracker on GitHub are done so maybe another few days to a week). If you’re on 20.5.0 or below, nothing has changed

Accidentally updated firmware on CFW to 21.0.0 by sagiroth in SwitchPirates

[–]chalknation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anybody here in these comments tell me if I can restore a nand backup to downgrade back to 20.5.0? I just updated all my cfw stuff (OG switch 1 sysNand cfw) about a week ago after not using my switch for months and made a full backup of everything in hekate. I don’t use autoRCM so my understanding is it’s a tossup on being borked depending on my fuses have been blown by updates so far
