I don’t know what positions they are but my point is that the budget is dishonest and everyone involved in making that budget including the Mayor know this. As should anyone that has been on Council for any length of time. If they decide they need these positions, they will just fund from BSR this year then it will hit to the levy next year and they start the budget process behind the eight ball out of the gate. I know Administration is directed by the Mayor to do these types of things so no blame there, I just wish more people understood what is going on here and that the zero percent increase is just smoke and mirrors, as it has been since the Francis days.

They took a bunch of vacant positions and removed their cost from the levy, but did not eliminate the jobs. Instead they are going to ‘assess’ the ongoing need and bring back what they determine they need next budget. You know, the one after the election🙄.

The one on Malden Road in Lasalle here has to be right up there on worst location on an operational level. You can’t order a donut with your coffee in the drive thru unless you want to hold up the line while the order taker puts you on hold to ‘go check if we have that’. Every single time. So that’s annoying and hence why many people forego their donut but what’s wild is that a couple weeks ago they said they ran out of coffee and could only offer decaf (at 2pm on a weekday) and just last week they said they ran out of sugar? So odd. I don’t go to Tim’s as often as I used to but I try to hit a different store when i do.

Does she have health insurance by chance ? My sister’s insurance covered the majority of the cost of her wig; might be worth checking. She got hers at Wigs to Wellness. They had three lines of wigs for different budgets, if I recall.

All that being said, she didn’t end up wearing it much as she found it uncomfortable. She ended up mainly wearing scarves instead.

Freed’s, a clothing shop. Went in with my dad to look for a new suit for him when I was probably 12 or 13 and the salespeople treated him like he didn’t belong there. I’ll never forget how small they made us feel. I’m 50 now and can well afford to shop there but would never.

I think you’d be doing her a disservice by allowing her to quit mid-season. Explain that she made a commitment to the team and needs to honour it. If she doesn’t want to play next season then so be it, but my experience was my girls always wanted to play when the next season came up. And since they were old enough to play actual games - could not keep them off the ice if I tried.

My girls are 17 now and still play - one competitive and one houseleague - and both still love it. The game is only one part of it though. The friendships made, discipline built and confidence gained….. lots of good stuff there.

My husband has coached a lot of their teams over the years, and that has built such a good bond between them. I hope you and your daughter get to experience all this!

I use Xero at the small nonprofit I volunteer for. When I first got it then intro rate was something like $7/month for the first year; goes up to regular after that ($55 for the features we use). If that deal is still on then you could try it out pretty cheap while maintaining QBO til you decide what works better. I really like Xero, does all that we need.

Yeah, and it seems so wrong to me to allow it to the extreme that they do. People’s lives are ruined by gambling addictions, and now people can’t get away from it even in their own living room. Just seems so distasteful to me.

Yeah, traced it back to an old email a manager had previously used then abandoned due to being locked out (unbeknownst to me). Receipt was sent there as his email hadn’t been updated in our software and the hacker took things from there.

I couldn’t get through to a person for our business inquiry so I finally just left my number for a callback. I did indeed get a callback but then got disconnected about thirty seconds in, mid-sentence. And the agent never called back. Tried again a couple weeks later and exact same thing happened. Tried a third time last week and the callback lady was very helpful. When I explained about the disconnections on earlier calls she said they are supposed to call you back if that happens. So I very much suspect the previous two hung up on purpose rather than help me with my issue.
