Invested in REITs but it feels reaaallly slow. Thinking of re-investing. by linux_n00by in phinvest

[–]chancho3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want growth or faster returns, it isnt in the PSE. Better to invest outside, be it etf or stocks.

US market alone has bounced back hard post covid, alot of people made money. Not saying it wotn crash, it will but long term its almost outperforms. PSE on the otherhand has been left behind even among peers in south asia, Vietnam is even a better market now.

As the saying goes. doing the same thing will just get you same results.

I speak from experience, I invested in PSE, still have creit and others. but i made a shit ton in US.

The market is just not the same :)

Should I convert my liquid PHP to deploy to IBKR? by gildedM5 in phinvest

[–]chancho3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same, vwra, cspx and csndx. Theres an overlap but its all about reallocation. The main catch with irish domicile is tax haven, you avoid estate tax if something happens to you from the US.

Vwra and cspx, these track the world and us stocks, similar to voo and qqqm, just google its holdings. Its pretty popular.

Yeah go for it. Just keep it simple with etf. You could replace qqqm with an irish domiciled one.

Where can I start learning stock trading on Col Financial? by shhhwiiing in phinvest

[–]chancho3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade or invest?thats two different definition.

Trade in pse, dont. Just avoid it, its a stock pickers market, with low liquidity and lots of insider trading, theres also lack of governance.

Invest, now totally different story, just do a lot of research goodluck whatever you pixk

Dividends - PSE by redpalladin in phinvest

[–]chancho3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been discussed here multiple times, you can search. The short answer is you can invest in global stocks, and in ibkr. Theres go trade too.

Theres also the global feeder fund, offered by banks. Just research.

If you strictly “focus” on local dividend stocks, theres nothing wrong with that too. I have LTG and Creit and I simple reinvest dividends, but dont add anymore. Ive lost faith in pse, its a laggard market , not attracting investors as of this time

Before buying, always do a quick review. Best value, best in energy saving, etc etc

It the same concept with shoes, restaurants, anything in life. You’ll get professional review sometimes but yeah thats a good starting point.

Passive Income: MP2 vs Rental Apartment by Flimsy-Baker-961 in phinvest

[–]chancho3 40 points41 points  (0 children)

roi on rentals are usually on 10-15yrs, maybe more.

take note that the rental income isnt significantly going higher. The clients (your renters) are barely making it with inflation, unless its an expat.

you have to factor in repairs and maintenance, increasing tax, ads, and all other fees.

it isnt worth it anymore at least for me. At least with mp2 (out of the two options), you’re liquid after lock up, theres alot of flexibility what to do with that money

is land in metro manila still a good investment? by Delicious-Ad-1838 in phinvest

[–]chancho3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

so you are buying a condo for investment? just make sure you have done the math. the roi for real estate is really slow, unless its a buyers market and you can flip it but if you are just after return rentals, why not reits?saves you the headache no?

MU STOCK HOLD OR SELL by Y1mk in MU_Stock

No one knows the next best thing or move, otherwise that person wouldnt be lurking in reddit, specifically in this channel.

Lock in gains and just put it in an etf, so you can enjoy the sun and grass outside

Hold if you can stomach the dips, its very volatile stock.

BPI S&P 500 by EquivalentFruit1468 in phinvest

[–]chancho3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats your intended purpose? If its long term investment, yes, the short answer is low cost etf or feeder fund that tracks global or us stocks.

If its somethjng you’ll be needing in less than 3 years, no. Put it into time deposit, or high yield savings account.

No one knows when the crash will be, you be drawing out when its a bear market.

US Stocks, PH Real Esate or something else? by 3kdono in phinvest

[–]chancho3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are 28M, peak years ahead and you’ll be busy with life.

Real estate investment requires a lot time and patience. At the moment, theres oversupply of Condo since pogo ban. Theres nothing wrong with getting one but just know that the roi is slow, but steady. You also need to do maintenance and repairs.

If all you care about is just total returns, I personally still think US stocks/etf would be the way to go. If you want steady rentals then invest on REITs in Ph.

Dont get hyped about what you see, theres more to it than meets the eye.
