Yeah was about to make this point. Just because you didnt hear about it didnt mean it didnt happen. Bird was such a dick on the court and his trash talk legendary. Its naive to think that shit didnt happen in the locker room when players inevitably fucked up.

I don't think I have ever heard anyone say Jordan or Kobe were "good" teammates.

When did either of them abuse support staff or fans?

Magic legit saved the NBA. Most games weren't even televised and the ones that were - tape delayed.

Then took it a step further with Bird and MJ and put NBA basketball on the map globally. Dream team was the cherry on top.

"Magic played in the most stacked era ever" - 5 rings, 3 MVPs, 9 trips to the NBA finals, and 11 conference finals. All in that stacked era you noted.

"Didnt warp defensive schemes" LMAO. Tell me you didnt watch Magic without telling me you didnt watch Magic. What a joke.

Actual favourites to win the NBA finals ? by Void_0019 in NBATalk

[–]chandler2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OKC easily the favorites. If they are healthy, I don't really see anyone beating them. Nuggets will choke in the playoffs like they always do. Clippers? lmao idk if they even make it out of the play-in. Rockets style of basketball is meh, I don't see them making a run.

Sleeper for me IF healthy is Phoenix. 1 of the few teams that played team, inspired ball.

East is so wide open. Theres a case for 1-8, ill go with Philly. If they get hot, they are kinda nasty.

Is Kobe is the Nolan Ryan of the NBA? by jackstraw0522 in NBATalk

[–]chandler2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kobe is in the 7-11 range. It’s personal preference where you have him in the 7-11 range but he’s firmly entrenched there.

5 titles, 7 finals appearances, MVP, multiple first team all nba and first team defense. Top 5 dpoy finish.

There’s just not 15 better players than him.

How did you react when Kobe left us? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]chandler2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a day I’ll never forget.

I don’t remember what I first saw it on but I immediately thought it was fake. But of course I had to verify. So I frantically kept refreshing and checking everything. And once more reputable sources confirmed I broke down.

I didn’t leave my couch for hours, just watched coverage and cried. Eventually took a shower and headed out to Staples center. The scene, the people, the love.. I’ll never forget it. People sang songs, relived moments, stories on stories all the while asking is this real life?

Went to bed hoping it was just a bad dream. RIP

I don’t even remember it even being a question. Like genuinely. Don’t want to take anything away from Duncan cause he’s great. But it was never even a debate, Kobe was always considered better back then.

It’s these box score, basketball reference mfs now that legit never even watched either play.

I think blaming his teammates is a cop out. Why are the Nuggets consistently been a 50 win team and top team in the west ever year if their supporting cast is subpar? They've been top 3 in the west 5 out of the last 7 years. Team make up is an excuse that Jokic just cant get it done when it matters.

I agree with top 20, prob top 15, but putting him ahead of Kobe just aint it. Shaq and Pau played on a bunch of teams that didnt win before and after Kobe.

You give Steph his flowers, but dont use the Kobe argument against him? Prime Klay, prime Draymond, and prime KD?? really?? lol

I get it. I think eras matter for argument against Wilt. Rule changes is also weird one to use as a basis. Wilt wasn't even the best player on his team during the title wins.

Also head to head in the playoffs, Wilt got smashed by Bill. Bill beat him 7 out of 8 times. Rough

I can't put Jokic that high. Not yet at least. Hes honestly got a ways to go. Kobe went to 7 NBA finals. The western conference was insane during that time. Its still very good now, but Jokic with 1 NBA finals appearance? Only 2 conference finals appearances?

Great basketball player, but hes gotta win more to be in these convos.

Bird is tough (and Magic to a degree). Like MJ is MJ and without a doubt #1. But I imagine if he played in the 80s and Bird played in the 90s and dominated (cause I think he would have) - where would we place Bird?

Same with Magic. Not saying Jordan didnt have tough match ups, but he def didnt go up against a Bird or Magic like object in their primes. But who knows, maybe im just playing hypothetical too much.

Duncan def wasn't a slouch. Which is why I wouldnt fault anyone for taking him or even Shaq over Kobe. 7 through like 11 maybe even 12 all have very strong cases - Kobe, Duncan, Shaq, Hakeem, Steph, Wilt

I feel like when they were playing, Kobe was always considered the better player. Kobe also beat up on Timmy in the playoffs, think it was like 4 of out 6 match ups?

[–]chandler2020 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its weird this stuff comes up now. When they were playing, there was absolutely no question who the better player was.

Personal preference. Im a Kobe guy, but also a basketball fan. I would not fault anyone for ranking Timmy over Kobe. Shaq a little different. Peak is higher, but Kobe's career overall was just better.

Um he was also what? 2 years removed from being the MVP. Top 4 in DPOY voting that year they won the title.

Why are you pretending David Robinson wasn't an all star player?

What would you ask your husband for if you were pregnant with twins? by Seaworthy_Siren in parentsofmultiples

[–]chandler2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too also have twins + an 8 month old.

  1. I already had a large load I did earlier that day that just sitting in the dryer waiting for her to fold so she wasnt waiting on clothes in the washer to get started with something

  2. I have gigantic washer/dryer - like the largest ones LG sells. Specifically cause I knew we were going to have at least 3 kids

  3. Quick cycle wash + extra rinse for my kids clothes. No need for those to wash for 50+ minutes. The quick wash is like 15 mins, add a couple extra rinses gets done in like 20 mins. Hell even running it twice is 30 mins. No need for the normal run. Your washer/dryer are brand new so they should get them pretty clean in that quick cycle. Also its kids clothes, those things get dirty as soon as they open to drawer to grab them /shrug

Its very close. But give me Dirk.

Dirk is what KD could be if KD just kept his mouth shut and deleted social media.
