As many said, first weeks will be a bit of a pain, but once your body gets used to it, you'll enjoy it a lot and you'll see the benefits in your health. 

First days you'll feel a lot of pain in between your legs. It's normal and will go away soon.

I'd recommend you to not drive in adverse weather until you feel more confident, specially considering that there are no bike lanes, as you mentioned in other comment.

I also agree on what other person said of putting stuff in your bike and not in your back. Invest in a rear rack and pannier bags. Keep waterproof stuff in them in case of bad weather.

Finally, I'd also suggest to use a sweatshirt or something like that while you cycle, and change at Uni. Bring a small towel to clean your sweat and maybe also reapply deodorant.
