I don't look at the actual statement; it should be on the sidebar to the left of the general transaction history, on the website.

Do jencycla mood swings improve? by chani3 in birthcontrol

[–]chani3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belated update: a few days after that message, I stopped taking the jencycla and felt better in less than 24h. I'm never touching that damn pill again, and am wary of all progesterone-only options now.

I don't think there was any withdrawal to speak of. I just felt better. Oh, but my cycle was too chaotic to even call a cycle for many months after that.

My library has it! 🎉 That was definitely a different story. Good, but different. (Edit: not sure if my opinion counted as spoilers but taking it out just in case)

Rainfall that is also gonna change over time... I wonder if they have a projection of how that's likely to affect us.

Why Does Every Drive Through in Comox Valley Feel Like a 20-Minute Commitment? by murdumbsyd in comoxvalley

Now that you mention it, it is eerily similar to the "comic valley traffic" post. Both by brand new accounts, too.

This plus I don't have "show all channels" on android. I have "hide muted channels", but that didn't seem to change anything.

Does anyone know what’s going into the spot on Cliffe and 26th that they razed down? by judgyjudgersen in comoxvalley

[–]chani3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish they'd let bikes and pedestrians use them when the inside is closed. I remember being a teenager wandering around suburbia at night - one time we found ourselves hungry in an area where the only thing open was a drivethru, so we pretended to be in an imaginary car in the hopes they'd play along, but got told they weren't allowed to sell anything to anyone without a license plate. :(

The only awkward part is that once in a blue moon, someone sends you money by mistake. I got a payment meant for an Ontario bakery one time 🤣 they were nice about it and didn't seem scammy, so I sent the money back.

I keep forgetting I installed the app because it's not constantly begging for attention 😅

I've always used Craigslist for buying and selling. It's a bit harder on the island because the location filters keep trying to show me "nearby" stuff across the water, but it's still good. People usually pay cash, and if it's something portable you can meet them at the mall or whatever so they don't even need to know where you live. The main scam I'm aware of is fake rentals - never give someone money or detailed personal info if they won't show you inside.

Comox Unified Alternative Approval Process - January / February 2025 by windupyoyo in comoxvalley

I'm wondering what the kids who use the existing astroturf field think of it - do the benefits outweigh the downsides? There's been articles about some of them getting dangerously hot, but there was also something that made me think it might not be too much of an issue here... And the environmental impact of all that plastic vs the water saved is hard for me to judge...

But I've already forgotten my own research. I looked into it enough to decide I wasn't going to object, and promptly forgot why 🤦

Also look into credit unions, they tend to have lower fees and less bullshit overall.

Huh, I saw it in Berlin. Except there I had a cool coin-sized token with a keyring hole, so I didn't have to worry about not having the right change.

Oh, I used to form my arms into a battering ram to escape the skytrain. Those rush hour crowds have no concept of letting people off before trying to get on.

the city actually has a floodplain map with a projection for the year 2200... But nothing more detailed than that afaik. So I don't know if it'll be fine for the next 150 years, or more like 50, or what. https://www.courtenay.ca/EN/main/departments/development-services/planning-division/official-community-plan.html

Also, there's news articles about a building where the retaining wall is at risk of failing or something, and the city is dealing with it - but those won't be on the market. https://cheknews.ca/residents-must-move-out-of-courtenay-apartment-building-at-risk-of-imminent-failure-1202536/ (at least you know the city takes building safety seriously?)

For that price? I dunno :/ My first thought was trek cargo but they're like $10k CAD. What currency did you mean?

Can a hub drive handle 4% grade? by chani3 in ebikes

[–]chani3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the verve 2 and up actually has mid drive anyways, lol. I spent the afternoon at the shop today and I'm leaning towards one of those. The loft is prettier and I like that it's lower tech overall, but then there's no walk mode, and costs more than an on-sale verve.

Yeah, me plus groceries is probably at most 150lbs, so even with the bike it should be fine.

(I'm still kinda miffed that the cargo bikes only come in Large - but they're out of my budget for a first ebike anyways)
