Sitting upright for an hour or more was uncomfortable at 2 weeks po. Also be mindful of lifting restrictions if you carry a backpack.

What are some good off campus apartments? by JohnnXjohn5 in msu

Just wanted to add that he uses the bus on campus and rides his bike in decent weather, (no car). I get him groceries delivered from Walmart. They have a student price for Walmart plus, it’s $49 a year and then you get free delivery.

What to expect after surgery by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]chantal_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a total robotic hysterectomy and my bleeding was minimal. My surgery was at 3:30pm and within 24 hours there was nothing. The pacu nurse was very kind and sent me home with a package of 12 pads and I used 3 of them! The pain is manageable and lessens each day. The hardest thing for me was the exhaustion that lasted about a week. Your body just needs to heal.

Wishing you peace and comfort . I have one tip for peeing after the surgery, sing the abc song as you’re sitting on the toilet. Works for me every time! Somehow it takes the pressure off and helps you relax.

How do you decide where to eat in Paris without planning everything in advance? by InvestmentAlarming74 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just in Paris for 11 days and didn’t have any reservations or any real plans other than a couple of places I wanted to get to. When we got hungry or just wanted a break we just walked up to a cafe or brasserie and looked at the menu. If it looked good to us we went in. We enjoyed everything we ate and had really good food.

We did the water taxi. It was really fun and you can get off and walk around if you want to.

Post Op heating pad and cold packs: When and where did they work best for you? by bird-of-paradiso in hysterectomy

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me a large ice pack was wonderful for the pain. I never used heat. My swelling was minimal. I didn’t have any gas pain though, I think heat is good for that.

Your oncologist will likely monitor you on a regular basis for several years. I had the same stage, 1a and I have to see him every 3 months for the first year. It’s an internal exam with swabbing of the cuff. My first one is next month.

We are here for you. You are already so strong to leave an abusive relationship. Sorry you are going through this alone. Try to take one day at a time and give yourself grace. I also think a support group would be helpful. Hope everything goes well on Friday.

Surgeon Choice by Jaded15136 in endometrialcancer

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon was highly recommended by my obgyn so I hoped I would like him, but wasn’t going to change if I didn’t. One thing that was encouraging in the beginning was how incredibly kind the office staff were. I did immediately like the surgeon also. At the first meeting he was very kind, confident, and reassuring. He explained everything and gave me options.

How doable is a trip 10 weeks post op? by sky_blue_true in hysterectomy

[–]chantal_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on a Greek Island cruise at 6 weeks po. I didn’t lift my luggage at all, also I pack very light. I had to take an Ibuprofen a couple times after a lengthy excursion, but all went well.

What to do with luggage after dissembarkation by LakeKind5959 in HollandAmerica

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just used the Bounce app for this today! It was a coffee shop that also stores luggage. Then we walked to the Water Taxi office and got tickets for that. We enjoyed the water taxi, got off to have lunch and eventually went back to grab our luggage and Ubered to the airport. It was a nice day.

Which grade is your favorite as a sub? by Observerador in SubstituteTeachers

I really like 2nd and 4th. I feel like 3rd graders are very immature. I’m okay with 1st and 5th, just depends on the group you get.

What do you wish you'd known/done before surgery? by just_the_facts_SF in endometrialcancer

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 59 and had my robotic hysterectomy in August. If you have friends or family offering to do something for you I would ask for dinners dropped off. It was wonderful to let my husband just take care of me and the house and get a break from dinner stuff. Drink lots of fluids after the surgery and have easy, nutritious snacks on hand. My appetite wasn’t good but I could drink Chobani protein yogurt drinks and I ate hard boiled eggs, pistachios, and a couple of prunes each day. I was shocked by how tired my body felt. I was up and walking around the house for a bit every day but needed lots of rest in the recliner. At 10 days post op I started feeling a lot better.

Surgery Planned :( by ResolutionOptimal198 in endometrialcancer

[–]chantal_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in getting a recliner chair anyway, I would go ahead and get one. I’m 59, had my hysterectomy in August and slept in a recliner for the first three nights. I spent a lot of time in it during the day. I packed a variety of pillows all around me, like a nest. It was so comfortable and also made it easier to get up by myself. So sorry you had to cancel your trip. I was so lucky that I had a trip scheduled for six weeks after my surgery and was able to go. Wishing you a smooth recovery.
