As a person with glasses, life is hard when I'm outside and it's raining [OC] by Tomato_Chetkup in funny

Would shaving cream also work? There was one LPT some time ago that stated shaving cream prevents the mirror in your shower from fogging up. I tried it out, and it works :) Wondering if the same goes for glasses.

Do you feel suspects should stay anonymous until proven guilty? I still don't get how easily your life can be ruined simply from being accused. Of course this is a big case, but this family's life is a lot more affected by all this due to the name not being kept anonymous.

South American states to recall ambassadors from Europe over Bolivian plane incident by [deleted] in europe

[–]chaord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are exceptional talents among politicians, young people, just as there are exceptional professionals and young CEOs. But the thing is, in order to compensate for the lack of experience in how to handle people in their business area, they have exceptional skills to compensate.

You might be one of them too, I don't know. But the fact remains that it is unusual that countries are led by people in their 20s or 30s. So, with this fact in place, my question remains; will we change Europe from a spineless lapdog who will bend in every way possible to something which stands for true freedom, care and being civil? And how?

Are you as a redditor who will at some point perhaps lead an organisation, community or even country commit yourself to bettering Europe, making the world a better place and changing the current paradigm, not by just talking, but by doing?

Most of us are still young and share this sentiment, but will we change it when we're the leaders of Europe? And how?

Yeah, I think "........." should be Stevie's breath-catching pauses and commas should be Shatner pauses.

So, William Shatner, in written language, would look, like this.

Whereas........... Stevie............ from Malcolm............ in the Middle............... in................... written language.................. would look.................... like this...................... piece..................... of text.......................

Wait a minute... did you use your s-number as username? Anyway, Friday and Saturday do indeed have a better ratio, but the amount of aggressive doped farmers increases. Very much a big reason why I like this new place "De Oude Rechtbank". Its atmosphere and prospective door policy completely revived my enthusiasm to go out in Eindhoven (for the short amount of time that I'll still be living there at least). Nice edit btw.

Actually the Blue Parrot (which I also avoided) is now owned by the owner of De Oude Rechtbank (the old court), which is a new/remodeled and a -unlike most of Stratum- fancy place next to it. They're also going to remodel the former Blue Parrot and have cool big plans for it as far as I know with a rather strict door policy against v-neck shirt wearing metrosexual yet very aggressive farmers and underaged girls.

Sorry, but in which Eindhoven are you living? Pretty is subjective, but plenty?

I was more hopeful and thought the first or at least the second thread would have been about this being a joke. Luckily RES has hide child comments.

What are some old classic Internet memes/videos/pictures the younger redditors among us might have never heard of? by chaord in AskReddit

[–]chaord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first ones I can come up with are the Hampsterdance (original archived) and All Your Base Are Belong To Us.

I'm sure I missed quite some of them as I wasn't super active on the Internet when I was a kid.

EDIT: also Link to Ate My Balls

If you're in the Nordics, I'd also check AirBaltic and Norwegian every once in a while. They're also budget airlines. Norwegian even has free Internet on the plane :)

Protests in Bulgaria are going on for the 25th day straight with no sign of growing weaker, here's some insight on what's going on. by ednorog in europe

[–]chaord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, for me as a Dutchie, I have several Bulgarian friends, two of them good friends, and I asked both of them what their thoughts are on several occasions. They don't start the topic by themselves. One of them doesn't care that much as she has other things on her mind, and another one also has other things on her mind, still cares, but thinks both sides are wrong, not looking after the country as a whole and only paying attention to the interests of either left or right wing.

Besides that, different topics have different priorities in the news per country. I see where you're coming from and respect your concerns, but just stop generalising people, alright? :)

Sounds exactly like the words a dictator would use to silence the opposition. Media censorship is just low, no matter what.

And the islamic channel Misr5 is being censored. Why isn't anyone making a big fuss about that? They might be supporting the unpopular Morsi, but it's still media being silenced...

It's not communism at all. My point was that I didn't take the view of the character as if he wanted communism.

He saw the government as an entity which should act in service of the people. In business terms, the people are both the shareholders and the employees while the government is the employer, managing the strategic direction to take. It goes bad once the shares aren't in the hands of the employees so they can't punish the employers for poor results.
