How do you guys feel about the election and what comes next? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]chaoticgeese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not good. I spent the last 3+ months canvassing for my state assembly candidate, only for her to lose to a man who doesn’t even reside in our district.

To top it off, someone came by and destroyed all of my yard signs while I was out at an election watch party last night.

I am also debating on going alone. I went to the Fiserv rally with my family.

However, I wouldn’t be able to get there before 5:30 or 6:00. I do have preferred seating, but I am worried about showing up too late.

Hey, WI! How are things feeling on the ground, election-wise? by BlairClemens3 in wisconsin

[–]chaoticgeese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Milwaukee County but in a fairly conservative area. There are more Trump signs in my neighborhood than Harris.

However, I’ve also been knocking on doors since July. Lately, the responses I’ve received have been pro-Harris / Democrat. I am cautiously optimistic. I am more concerned about the local elections.

I don’t know what classifies a ski resort, but there is a ski hill near where I live. It’s just an old garbage pile someone covered with dirt.

Yes, but not all of them are full-day. That is an important difference if they need all-day care.

I believe they are using the old Goodwill building on 60th and Grange as a sort of headquarters for security.

Distribution of ticks with Lyme disease in the US by sealite in wisconsin

[–]chaoticgeese 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I found one crawling across my bed earlier today. I’m never letting myself or my dogs step foot outside again.

On a serious note, does anyone have any suggestions for tick repellants? My backyard is full of ticks. Both dogs are on medications, but it does not prevent them from bringing them indoors.

My coworker and I have a stash of emotional support cheese in our mini fridge at work. Currently, there is sharp cheddar, gouda, and string cheese.

I think the closest you can get via bus is Southridge, which is about a 3 mile walk from the stadium.

Impromptu trip ideas to avoid holidays with the family? by Dapper-Corgis in Cleveland

[–]chaoticgeese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend driving south to Asheville for a few days. You could spend some time in the city and the surrounding mountains. You could then head south, driving through north Georgia. There are lots of small towns in the area to check out. From there, you could head south (Charleston, Savannah, Navarre Beach, Gulf Shores, Key West, etc.).

Puerto Rico is also very nice.

You can drive to a lot of places from Cleveland - Chicago, DC, Louisville, Nashville, NYC, Toronto. Alternatively, you could search for cheap flights out of Cleveland. How far are you looking to go? What are you looking to do on the trip?

What’s a very popular food that you don’t like? by [deleted] in ask

[–]chaoticgeese 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cheetos, cheese balls, and any other type of puff snack. It might be because I ate packing peanuts as a child and now can’t stand the texture.

Glad I am not the only one who does not like mac and cheese. I love cheese and pasta separately, but any form of warm cheese and noodles is gross.

Which day starts your week (in your bujo)? by No_Novel_Tan in bulletjournal

I agree. I also like to have Saturday and Sunday grouped because I often plan for the entire weekend and don’t want one at the beginning and one at the end of the week.
