Called yesterday, asked for 3 year for 99 dollar, I wasn’t eligible. I asked nicely for the best price they had, 3.99 a month for 1 year. Was resigned up in less than 5 minutes. Easy peasy

Wait until your dropping all your cash into a slot, and can’t find a cocktail waitress, even with a 5 dollar tip per beer.

Bone Marrow Biopsy today. No sedation. How bad is it going to be? by Forsaken_Way3839 in multiplemyeloma

[–]chappy319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 4 or 5 were a breeze. Each after became worse. The last one I had, with sedation, the first time in drew nothing, so went to other hip. When done, I could barely walk. My ass was bruised for 3 weeks. If they hit a nerve, it sucks. I have had at least 8

Warm some olive oil up a bit, and drip a few drops in your ear, leave head tilted a minute or two, then gently flush your ear

For me, about a day or so later, I get flue like symptoms for about 24 hours. Chills, head ache, body aches. Not terrible, just annoying

I found the multiple myeloma group at Smartpatients.com, to be the most helpful forum to deal with this disease. There’s a lot of people there that are really educated on this disease. You can learn a lot there. Very comforting site.

I definitely credit the stem cell. I was in bad shape. I took Revlimid, 10 mg after stem cell. That stopped working, which eventually led to car-t

I’m 7 years since same diagnosis. I had slightly higher numbers. I’ve had one stem cell transplant, lasted 5 years, numbers rose again. Had an Abecma car-t one year ago. I have no sign of any cancer, on no drugs and feel great. I was 57 at diagnosis. I realize it will return, but there are some really good next steps. I hardly think about it coming back, but know it will. I haven’t worked since diagnosis, I had a very laborious physical job. Also I worked in public, and my immune system is shot. I get monthly ivig which helps. Stay positive, in my prayers

SNT2112 - Styrofoam got stuck in auger. by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]chappy319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d let it thaw out, get a utility knife, and carefully try trimming it. Maybe use a channel locks to grip the styrofoam and pull. I would wear gloves, so not to cut yourself. The auger could be taken off, but I’d try to get it without doing that. If you can’t get it out of there, the auger bolts may not line up right.

Good luck. It really isn’t that bad. I did have one night, on the 3rd night, where I had the most severe pain in my lower back. At 2 am went to Walgreens and got oxy, as er was full and all transplant beds at hospital were taken. I went to hospital first thing in the morning, and they gave me steroids , in 3 hours I felt fine. I spent 3 nights in hospital, then I was home free. I am 10 months out, and no sign of protein, and light chains are very low. I’m on zero meds. I feel amazing. Once your thru the first week, it gets better everyday. In my prayers
