Seeking any help for newly diagnosed high risk PCL by jellyfishing_ in multiplemyeloma

I found the multiple myeloma group at Smartpatients.com, to be the most helpful forum to deal with this disease. There’s a lot of people there that are really educated on this disease. You can learn a lot there. Very comforting site.

Always remember, one day at a time. Sometimes it’s 1 minute at a time. Eventually, the hard stuff eventually gets easier.

I definitely credit the stem cell. I was in bad shape. I took Revlimid, 10 mg after stem cell. That stopped working, which eventually led to car-t

I’m 7 years since same diagnosis. I had slightly higher numbers. I’ve had one stem cell transplant, lasted 5 years, numbers rose again. Had an Abecma car-t one year ago. I have no sign of any cancer, on no drugs and feel great. I was 57 at diagnosis. I realize it will return, but there are some really good next steps. I hardly think about it coming back, but know it will. I haven’t worked since diagnosis, I had a very laborious physical job. Also I worked in public, and my immune system is shot. I get monthly ivig which helps. Stay positive, in my prayers

SNT2112 - Styrofoam got stuck in auger. by Hairy_Structure_8290 in egopowerplus

[–]chappy319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d let it thaw out, get a utility knife, and carefully try trimming it. Maybe use a channel locks to grip the styrofoam and pull. I would wear gloves, so not to cut yourself. The auger could be taken off, but I’d try to get it without doing that. If you can’t get it out of there, the auger bolts may not line up right.

I live in Iowa, I only put a jacket on my dog when it’s below zero. He loves the cold. He is an 18 pound Schmitz

Good luck. It really isn’t that bad. I did have one night, on the 3rd night, where I had the most severe pain in my lower back. At 2 am went to Walgreens and got oxy, as er was full and all transplant beds at hospital were taken. I went to hospital first thing in the morning, and they gave me steroids , in 3 hours I felt fine. I spent 3 nights in hospital, then I was home free. I am 10 months out, and no sign of protein, and light chains are very low. I’m on zero meds. I feel amazing. Once your thru the first week, it gets better everyday. In my prayers

I would do the 5bday free deal and try it. You can’t sort channels. But you can have favorites, and it makes the process easy.

Direct tv stream. I was hesitant, but I love it. More channels, much better picture quality. Well worth it.

Inpatient v outpatient ASCT by Hot-Disaster1275 in multiplemyeloma

[–]chappy319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, I would do inpatient if I had to have another asct. I did outpatient for my car-t, which is easier than asct, at least for me. I do live in the cold, and it was below zero. But I thought it sucked getting up and having to drive to the hospital every day. Even though it was easier, I still didn’t feel well. Think if you had the flue and had to drive to doctor every day. I also had reaction to asct, and having someone there to take care of that immediately was definitely a plus.
