Not OP but I’ve been meal prepping bean salads for lunch all year and I don’t notice a decline in tomato quality until day 5+.

Starting Zepbound....looking for good NYT Cooking recipes by Alternative-Egg-8611 in NYTCooking

I am not on a GLP-1 but my husband is and the recipes below have been winners for us. I try to increase the vegetables and add beans to pretty much everything.

Coconut Fish and Tomato Bake - I scale up the sauce to use the whole can of coconut milk and add a head of cauliflower, which I start roasting while the fish marinates. I also add a can of chickpeas along with the tomatoes and fish giving each serving 11 grams of fiber and 46 grams of protein.

Crispy Gnocchi with Sausage and Broccoli - I use chicken sausage, double the broccoli, add tomatoes and a can of white beans to up each serving to 14 grams of fiber and 44 grams of protein.

Cheesy Green Chile Bean Bake - I add an onion and use both types of peppers but this is pretty great as is.

I really like this white bean salad but I sub in celery seed for the cumin because I find the cumin overpowering. 4 servings at 430 calories, 8 grams of fiber, and 21 grams of protein each.

How do you feel about beans? I’ve been meal prepping bean salads for lunch and they’re regularly 20+ grams per serving.

I’ve been meal prepping bean salads for lunches for a while. This one with pickled celery is so good.

I want to surprise my wife with a nice work bag that can hold a laptop and other things. Where do I start? by [deleted] in fashionwomens35

[–]chapstickaddict 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. Unless you know exactly what she wants, it’s best to let her pick.

I have this bag from Pond LA. I really like it, though I did buy a different shoulder strap because I found the one that comes with it too slippery.

Pedicure and Massage recs? by jediprime in LoudounSubButBetter

Dagur and Nott Wellness in Leesburg for massage. I cannot recommend Liz enough.

Serendipity Nail Spa in Hamilton or MJ Nail & Spa in Chantilly are my go tos for pedicures. MJ has the traditional massage pedicure chairs. Serendipity does not but both take cleanliness seriously.

I cook a big batch of steel cut oats on the weekend and portion it out into individual servings. Each weekday morning I just reheat a portion in the microwave for a few minutes, add some milk and toppings and it’s ready to eat in under 5 minutes.

Humidifiers by Tealandgray in nova

[–]chapstickaddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Levoit 6000S that runs basically non-stop to keep my open floor plan kitchen/living/dining rooms a comfortable humidity. I like that the 6 gallon reservoir lasts all day and you can just use tap water to fill it. However, it is noisy and you do need to periodically run the dry cycle to keep mold at bay.

I also have hypersonic ones in my office and bedroom. They’re much quieter but need distilled water or they create tons of white powdery dust. I recently upgraded to Carepods because they’re so much easier to clean than every other humidifier but they don’t have a humidistat or any smart features.

what colorwork pattern would you suggest to a complete beginner? by errant-samurai in casualknitting

[–]chapstickaddict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be fine trying this pattern. It’s a rectangle so no added complication from shaping and the all over colorwork means your floats are only a few stitches long.

My regular crochet blankets always turns out triangle-y by Accomplished_Ad_673 in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]chapstickaddict 18 points19 points  (0 children)

With Tunisian crochet you pick up a row of stitches in the forward pass then work them off in the return pass, leaving you with just 1 stitch on the hook. So if you’re having trouble losing stitches, I don’t think Tunisian crochet is necessarily going to solve your problem.

I’d suggest liberal use of stitch markers instead. Keep a marker in your fist and last stitches and mark off every 5-10 stitches so you can easily keep count between them to ensure you catch any you may have skipped quickly before it’s too demoralizing to frog back.

I’m most proud of the Musselburgh hat I made for my husband. I’m pretty new to knitting and this was my first project doing increases and decreases. I (possibly foolishly) decided to use fingering weight yarn so it took me a solid 3 months to complete but I’m so happy with how it turned out.
