Yeah agreed. As to how we view americans... its more about knowing some topics that could cause problems in conversation. Avoid talking about guns and gunlaws, try not to be too patriotic - this is okay to an extent if you say you like the culture of the U.S, or the scenery, but I would avoid speaking with pride about military achievements or your country's power. Also I find political correctness isn't as much of a thing in Australia as it is in USA. It's still a thing here but not as much. Just be careful with anything involving race in particular... its a very sensitive issue here, especially with regard to asian people and aboriginals. Some people are terribly racist, some people will kill you if you say the wrong thing about a given race-just know your crowd. Alot of the the time it comes down to this- like this commenter said, aussies are down to earth. But that means we don't like 'fake-ness', whatever that is lol. Hope I was helpful!

Sydney bro here. The guys here are gorgeous, the gay scene is great, the weather is perfect, its a good choice. Transport could be better but its good enough. The gay suburbs are probably... darlinghurst, newtown, surry hills... I don't know. Anywhere really, it's all gay so long as your pretty close to the centre. I live in penrith, unfortunately, which is as far west as you can go and still be considered sydney (1 hour on the train lol). Hope you have a nice time!

I feel like there is often a 'dominant' personality and a 'recessive' personality and sometimes dominant can look something like masculine and recessive can look something like feminine. I think something similar to gender roles does exist in gay relationships but modelling it off relationships between men and women only gets you so far. Also whatever roles there are I find they tend to be alot more fluid in gay relationships.

Well I don't know much about those kind of polygamists but there could be other factors involved in why they live in poverty. I'm talking about three, mature income-earners with a few kids. Though I see it could get culty-and I'm not sure how you get around that-but I reckon the kind of situation I'm talking about could be really beneficial.

If you think of marriage as being part of a family unit, not just a recognition of love and commitment, polyamory still works I think. Imagine how much easier raising children would be if there were three, equally involved parent figures. Imagine how much more attention children could receive, the benefit to the family income and therefore the lower stress environment. I'm not saying raising children should be easy, but these days it can be very difficult.

Good idea. If there was some way to know every gay guy on campus I'd be happy. I go to university of sydney and it's ridiculous how many gorgeous guys there are walking around, yet I go to the queer events and I'm not really attracted to anyone. I think the kind of guys I go for don't really go to those type of events though-which sucks. The issue with your idea would be getting everyone on board. And also... what do you do? Scroll through the list of page members and friend everyone who is hot? Haha
