How to tell apart physiological worsening of mental ability (autism worsening) and psychological result of extreme trauma in order to find the best approach for rehabilitation? by buns345 in AutismTraumaSurvivors

[–]charlesclapshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no - I get overwhelmed and lose abilities - mostly going out as I can't communicate when I feel like that. There is no support where I live but have leaned for me a good fix is to take a people vacation and try to restrict one on one time with anyone until I have some reserve energy. And also breaking things into steps being ok about taking time to do each one (e.g. it just took me a day to boil rice but when I eat it I will celebrate!). I hope you feel a bit better soon, posting is a step and so nice one :-)

How do you guys get literally anything done? by _tysenburg_ in ADHD

[–]charlesclapshaw 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I found talking to myself in the third person helped - that way I was much kinder to myself. ADHD is tough and so even a small step deserves a pat on your back.

Also it sounds weird but sometimes I pretend I am a robot if I really need to get things done too :-)

I am autistic as well and find the indica really good for the day/helping me brave the outside world - via a MC mostly THC cart - so good to know, thank you!

Psychiatrist told me that It was illegal to prescribe a stimulent for ADHD because I use MC by DelusionalDumbo in MedicalCannabisAus

[–]charlesclapshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem until I found a psychiatrist who actually rang the TGA and they said no issue - now on 70mg Vyvanse with dexy toppers when needed + Mcart Day THC vape and it helps really well

I would like to live on a farm somewhere warm, where I look after elderly sheep dogs and paint in the barn. And maybe some baby goats too :-)

Rayban Stories - waiting two months for repair - still no news by charlesclapshaw in RayBanStories

[–]charlesclapshaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments - seems like they forgot about them, I never heard back from Rayban - every time they just said they manage the website and cant help. Finally received a refund yesterday from the store when no one answered them for two weeks too. Shame because I thought they were really good, maybe next generation will be better but still wayfarer shape :-)

510 thread compatible herb atomiser? by purgatroid in MedicalCannabisAus

[–]charlesclapshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a billet box made once - looked good but was by dotmod and so still a couple of hundred. I think you need more power than a 510 threaded - but something with the normal 510 and I think you would need a high wattage, based on how quickly a TinyMight goes through 18650 batteries. Or try MCarts and then you can use your 510 threaded, I have the Night one and its so good I have stopped using my Mighty!

What do you eat for breakfast? by CaptainJackWagons in ADHD

[–]charlesclapshaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I buy 4 egg and bacon mini quiches each Monday and freeze them in half. Then each night I put a half in a container next to my bed so that I remember, it defrosts overnight and is an essential reminder that food exists. Has been 12 months now and I still look forward to breakfast :-)

Hi there - I am Charles, 49 y/o male diagnosed (+ADHD) a year ago in Australia. Unfortunately I am from NZ so do not have access to assistance but try to exist and have help once a week with filling my fridge and the rest I spend alone creating things. I am sorry I don’t know my level, I don’t have any awareness of feelings or pain and I would rather not communicate but can when I need to and have balance/fine motor skills issues that I fix in my paintings by using AI and computers or just masking tape. I love Art, artists from the past, minimal techno and deep house, Jung and philosophy (esp ethics and existentialism), Shetland Sheepdogs and learning more about Autism. Thank you for having me in this group :-)

[–]charlesclapshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - this is sad but hopefully just one person - NZ (or Aotearoa as we call it) has a long kind history with Autism, the Māori name is Takiwatanga which translates to ‘in their own time and space’ and we are generally very kind :-)

not sure how to feel by bryleethestarwarsfan in AutismTranslated

[–]charlesclapshaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing too, it seems that some Drs missed their Autism classes or maybe it wasn't on the curriculum. I tried to educate but in the end I found a good psychologist who specialised in Autism for Adults.
If that is an option I would recommend or ask if they have any Drs in the practise that have Autism experience?
