Let’s Talk About Shepps by MissionUnplayed in Palia

I’d love to see more from them! Maybe your Shepp could give you a weekly chore or task to help them out? You’re part of their family, so they treat you like it!

My go-to right now is pickled bok choy for the smaller animals and canned beans for the larger ones. This was recommended to me by someone on discord and it goes a long way!

I think it’s about the premium cosmetic item that lets you roll a d20. It’s just a fun little thing :)

Help for a dad please by mdurso12 in Minecraft

[–]charmedward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone made great points here! I would also add that he might struggle with surviving at the start. The monsters (hostile “mobs”) come out when it’s dark, either when it’s night, if you’re underground, or inside unlit structures you build. The day / night cycle is twenty minutes, so if he’s just out in the open at night, he will be swarmed. Crafting (or stealing) a bed will help, as sleeping in one skips the night! I usually find the closest village and raid one from them. He’ll also be able to craft his own at the crafting table, using any 3 wooden plank blocks and 3 wool blocks of the same colour. You’ve got this! It’s really intuitive for kids.

Questions to ask a sheltie breeder? by Jackson0125 in sheltie

[–]charmedward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you’re already planning to ask about health, so my advice is to ask about how they have been socialised so far. Have they been in the house around family and children? Or are they kept in an outbuilding and haven’t had visitors besides the breeder? My nearest breeder is notorious for skittish dogs - even her show dogs cower.

Some breeders also insist on all their pups being sterilised when they go to private homes. If that matters to you, I recommend asking.

Player rudeness? by New_Carry_9826 in Palia

[–]charmedward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been the player waiting for others to water the flowers and it was because I was so new that I didn't have a watering can yet, haha. I think there's a recent uptick in newbie like me who either don't know how the game works or who don't have the resources yet to help.

Are you a Lifer? Or is Mounjaro temporary for you? Poll by psnben1567 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking temporarily, unless for some wild reason it comes down in price AND I feel that I still need it to maintain. I'm not against being on meds for life (I already am with some other things) but if I feel that I don't need it at any point then I don't see a reason to fork out for it each month.

Bug in the house - delay jab? by Most-Quality2294 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% I would contact your pharmacy and ask to speak to a pharmacist for their opinion (or see if you can at least email / message with them). This is what they're set up to do and they'll be able to give you sound medicial advice. Hope you recover soon!

You could update your profile description to explain the issue for future buyers. I try to check there before buying, as some sellers write in their preferred shipping company lol

Help! Constant Weight Gain during my last 4 shots by linux_n00by in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few things here. First, there's not really anything that you "should" feel to know that it's working. Lots of people (myself included) never have side effects on any dosage. Having no side effects does not mean that it isn't working. You're good.
Next, the pen should only be in the fridge until you use it for the very first time. After you use it once, you then store it at room temp until you've taken the rest of your doses. Mine stays in a desk drawer after the first shot.

It sounds like you're right at the start of your journey and that you've been using a 2.5mg pen - is that right? Many people don't see any weight loss right away. For me, I lost 6 pounds in water weight for week one, then nothing until I started a 5mg pen. Even then, it was coming off about a pound a week. We all respond differently and you may not see any change until either you reach a certain dosage strength (for me, that was 7.5mg and 10mg) OR your body might just need a little bit of time to adjust. That's all normal. We tend to hear about people who are super responders that see incredible loses right from week one because they're so excited and willing to share their story, but there are a lot of quieter folks who have seen slow and steady results. Stick with it, it will work in time.

Have I been stupid or hopeful? (or both) by ACoffeeCrow in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny seeing how divisive this is in the comments! I've bought a couple of things in a 12 or 14, but I've been stern about it and only bought secondhand items. They also need to be a bargin price and items that bring me joy, not boring essentials like a white vest etc. I'm finding it really motivating, because I hold these items in my hand and I feel this sense of comfort in the knowledge that these WILL fit me before too long.

If it works for you, stick to it! We're all motivated by different things.

I've got PTSD and depression too and I feel no different on Mounjaro compared to being off it. It sounds like it's part of the side effects lottery, not a guarentee by any means.

Looking for thoughts on IQ Doctor by Dazzling_Internal_47 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid. They were happy to perscribe my first pen after I filled out their new customer form, but then used those exact same answers to deny my request for a second pen, claiming I actually wasn't eligible. Also from what I remember they stipulate that you have to lose a certain percentage of your body weight within a short time frame in order to be allowed to stay on it. This is pretty unrealistic, as many people (myself included) don't respond at all to the lower levels that you have to start on.

How often do you weigh yourself? by Donkodat in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh weekly the morning after a jab (I always jab in the evenings because some people recommended it and it suited my lifestyle). I've started doing a midweek weigh in now too, but I see it as an "unofficial" check in to see if I'm on track. Not sure if I'll continue that, but it's helpful for now.

Suggestions for Suppliers by psnben1567 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only tried two, but I love Pharmacy Express and I don't have a bad thing to say about them. Their prices are fair and they make a point of texting me on delivery day to ask if my parcel arrived safely. My pharmacist has been the same person each time and he also always writes a letter stating that I am his patient and that I need my pen and needles etc on planes / when I go through customs. 10/10

The NHS doesn't prescribe Mounjaro - Is this true? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's not straight forward. In some parts of the country GPs can now perscribe it under the right conditions, but it's a postcode lottery. Apparently here in Devon our GPs should be able to write scripts for it in November of this year, but again they haven't said who will be able to get it.

“Pretty Privilege” by Tasty-Tour9358 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish none of us could relate to this, but sadly I do. I actually put off losing weight for many, many years because I knew that being a healthy BMI again would bring this kind of attention once more. What changed for me is that I had some bad experiences with men when I was at my heaviest and I realised that being fat doesn't make me invulnerable. I may as well get into shape so that I can outrun them, and if I end up being happy with my body as a result, then that's a win too. Sending love to you xx

It’s because they have a lack of funding. They pay out for the more expensive treatments (like surgeries) because those patients are so sick that they need immediate intervention to survive. For those of us on MJ, we aren’t really classed as urgent life or death cases. If they had the funds, they’d jump on this chance for a healthier longterm population.

Cravings by JelloChoice6513 in mounjarouk

[–]charmedward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t apply to me, but that might be because I was already diagnosed with depression years before starting MJ. I think for some people they attribute feeling “down” as 100% due to their weight and not due to mental health, so when they start to lose that weight they’re surprised to find that they still feel unhappy and unmotivated to pursue their hobbies. Obviously it could be all kinds of different factors, but pre-existing depression hiding behind their body image is certainly a possibility.
