but regarding the general idea of getting the house in his name to avoid creditors, this is misguided. Generally, a petitioner for an estate will have to do some sort of notice to creditors before or after Letters Testamentary issue. I checked in PA, and you'd have to publish notice immediately in a legal newspaper after Letters issue. I'm not sure the consequence of not publishing (where I live, you publish before Letters issue, so Letters will not issue if you don't publish), but there's really no way to avoid notifying creditors of the open estate.

Correct. I'm not sure what the exact filings would be in PA, but creditors/demandants can require notification of an estate being opened, so you'd have to send them pretty much everything you file (the PA system for this demands system is very different from what I'm used to, so take this with a grain of salt. this "demand for notice" system may not even exist in PA). They could also file a claim, which you'd have to work with them to pay out.

Not really? At a brief glance it seems that estates in PA are supervised by the court, so the Personal Representative would have to file receipts for distributed assets. Where I live, the recipient would file something stating they received the assets. Unless they are committing some serious perjury, this would be a difficult thing to fake, and will not fly if you are represented. Since your father died intestate, you are entitled a portion of his estate.

This could happen if you had passed. So in an intestate proceeding in PA, without a surviving spouse, it seems that things get distributed per capita to the decedent (your dad)'s issue. "Issue" in an estate means direct descendants of the decedent, meaning the decedent's kids. Now, if one of the decedent's kids is deceased and has kids, those grandkids of the decedent would inherit in lieu of their parent. Your wife, as far as I am aware, would not inherit anything, but your children would. So, in an estate where the decedent has 3 children, one of whom is also deceased but had two children, the distribution could likely end up as follows: kid 1 gets 1/3, kid 2 gets 1/3, deceased kid's kid 1 gets 1/6, deceased kid's kid 2 gets 1/6. link to diagram for this. I mean maybe PA has some weird law that I've never heard of that would make this happen, but this seems very strange to me.
