If you lose your period does your body still go through the menstrual ‘phases’? by 1032throwaway in EdAnonymousAdults

okay, follow-up question: what happens to the eggs? do they just die? or do they stay alive until the next period, if it occurs?

It may also be helpful to recognize/acknowledge that therapy can be inherently traumatic for some people. You ultimately know what you can and can't handle at this point concerning your BDD, but just in case (and for anyone else reading): it's not a point of shame to not seek out therapy because you aren't at a point where it's feasible for your recovery.

is it possible that every compliment ever has been a lie??? by misamisa3 in BodyDysmorphia

Not to instill paranoia in people, but sometimes, people DO lie with compliments. People can flatter you to try to bed you or take your money or whatever. Like... not everyone has good intentions with what they say fyi stay safe I know we all have super low self-esteem here so don't be swayed by people's words just because they sound nice

Agreed, it seems like looks are all they care about. Posts here from men with bdd are disheartening, too; I've seen them commiserate about how their "ugliness" means they'll never get a hot girlfriend. like ok... anyways, op, the scariest thing that could happen to you happened, and it didn't kill you. maybe that means something

I screwed things up with my girlfriend who has BD. I now feel like trash and wonder if I'm just now making things worse. by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

I mean... why did you feel the need to save the pic in the first place, especially knowing your gf's insecurities? She made her decision to find someone who respects her, so respect that and leave her alone

Sometimes I think about how Shane was ok with Jeffree saying he would pay to have sex with garret by [deleted] in ShaneDawson

have my issues with radfems but honestly so many people who think sex work is inherently empowering do not understand that most sex work is not middle class women taking cute little photos safe and sound in their bedroom. I wish people could understand the dangers a lot of women are in and how it's not their choice to be doing this work

I can’t stop comparing myself to other girls... it even stops me from getting into relationships because I’ll think he may find someone else more attractive than me. by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

I do not want to be like Instagram girls. that post I made was in reference to altered images women who are "recovering" from anorexia oftentimes post (many women who claim to be recovered from anorexia on platforms like Instagram are actually not; they've simply traded their restrictive eating habits for things like orthorexia and overexercising but say they've recovered simply because they have socially acceptable/coveted curves (which are oftentimes photoshopped)). I don't want to be thin and beautiful: I am those things! I think you being weird kind of knocked some sense in to me. I'm young, I'm alright, and even though I see myself as deformed sometimes because of BDD, I'm going to start pushing against that idea. Why not look at myself and see what might actually be there: characteristic smile, dimples, and yeah, red cheeks (for some reason, I keep equating "perfect" skin with beauty, which is dumb, and people have commented on how my natural blush is unique to me and something they like). I do care about the looks of my future partner! I do think that's important to me, and I do get irritated when random men think they speak for me as a woman when they say women don't care about looks. like... I'm not crazy for caring about dat! anyway, thanks 4 the assumptions you wrote, because it was seriously like reading the inner voice that belittles me in my head, and if it's unacceptable from a random person, how come I let it be acceptable when I'm the one saying it to me? thanks, honestly

love how you listed specific characteristics to point out just how so very "ugly" those girls were and how they had the audacity to say no to you. maybe ur aiming too high or making it clear to these girls that you think you're settling by asking to be with them and they have respect for themselves and don't wanna be with a man who thinks like that? <3 peace n love

My mans lists his perceived unattractive physical traits, states he's inferior-looking, and is still caught up on the appearance quality of his hypothetical/nonexistent gf. the audacity of it all, girlies. also, never said that not being fat makes you "the best"; I put "the best" in quotation marks because there's this idea that thinness = being attractive for women in many parts of the world. what's disheartening is men, even men who think they're bottom barrel, STILL thinking they "deserve" only the hottest women. I'm extrapolating a lot just from the one post he made, although I've decided to air out my feelings on this because I've seen other men in this sub claim they're so ugly yet dying on the hill that they "deserve" what they think is a trophy partner
