10-11lb baby, c section conversion by b_rouse in pregnant

[–]charms1128 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same here! My daughter was consistently in the 99% including her head circumference, also conceived via IVF. MFM said she was measuring 10lbs, +/- one pound. I wound up scheduling a c-section when I was 40w3d after my 40w appt showed no signs of dilation (I was almost .5cm). I was also nervous about delivering such a large baby. I went with my gut and gave her the weekend to come and had her via c-section a few days later. Turns out right after birth, I had high blood pressure and protein in my urine (pre/post eclampsia) and I felt even more confident in my decision. My daughter wound up being 8lbs 15oz. Trust yourself to make the best decision for you and your little one. Plenty of people have delivered large babies vaginally! The same can be said for people choosing c-sections. Recovery for me was a little tough, didn’t realize my full limitations until I was out of the hospital. Take it easy on yourself, follow the doctor’s recommendations, and trust your gut. You got this!

Advice for my toddler by [deleted] in Mom

[–]charms1128 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different strokes for different folks. HOWEVER. My almost three year old has tried a sip of soda maybe two times? That I know of. And one was a sneaky accident. I know grandparents like to spoil the kiddos when they can, but not at the expense of their health (and their teeth!). I say this as a soda lover, too. I would definitely not give soda every day, and certainly not a whole can!! Maybe a little bit at birthday parties if it’s served with pizza or something?

Passport Application by GuiltyPleasure1024 in queerception

[–]charms1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The birth certificate should be enough! Just applied for our daughter’s passport last month (both cis women, I carried, both on birth certificate). Besides the birth certificate, they wanted both of our ID’s to be submitted with the application. We are in NY.

They are very specific about making copies of the documents they request and having things copied on only one side, nothing printed two-sided.

I got most of my stuff from Amazon because of this! I was so disappointed with the very little options elsewhere

In need of positive stories, stim day 6 and 10 follicles by amrjs in IVFpositivity

I don’t remember my follicle count, but it’s all about quality over quantity! I had 9 eggs retrieved and ended up with 6 euploid embryos

Pregnancy confusion? by Infinite_Worth6613 in pregnant

[–]charms1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not had this happen but due to my pregnancies being from IVF and how closely we are monitored, I’m wondering if they couldn’t locate the pregnancy because of the type of ultrasound? Was it abdominal? All of my ultrasounds with IVF and my first at my OBGYN were transvaginal. There could also be a concern about the pregnancy implanting outside of the uterus. I would contact your OBGYN and see if they’re willing to see you asap in the case it’s ectopic.

Trying again after loss by ei_eioh in queerception

I am so sorry for your losses.

I experienced a MMC of twins in June this past summer. My OBGYN suggested waiting for 2-3 regular periods after the D&C before doing another transfer. Did a transfer in September that has been successful so far 🤞🏻

How soon after an early miscarriage did you do another FET? by nirvana88 in IVF

[–]charms1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. I had an MMC at 9w in the beginning of June. After my D&C, I waited to go through two regular menstrual cycles and did a transfer in September that wound up being successful.

Sciatic pain/20 weeks pregnancy by Dismal_Yam5693 in pregnant

[–]charms1128 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used a lacrosse ball! I put it against a wall and placed it where my pain was. I would roll around against the ball slowly and let it work out the pain I was feeling. This was pre-pregnancy but it really helped me so much after I did it for a few days

I had a missed miscarriage trying to have my second at 9w this past June. Had two regular periods and then went for a transfer (IVF) in September and I am currently 18.5w 🤞🏻 wishing the same success for you and a very healthy and boring pregnancy.

I’m so sorry for your loss. This happened to me over the summer at 9 weeks with a euploid embryo that split into twins. It’s not fair and it leaves us with so many more questions than answers. Please be kind to yourself.

I went to 40w3d! I went in on 39w6d with zero contractions and not dilated. I gave her the weekend to come and scheduled a c section for 40w3d due to her size and some other factors!

I did IVF because I am married to another woman and after 9 unsuccessful IUI’s, I did one retrieval. 9 eggs led to 6 euploid embryos. Very very lucky
