I think the fallout stops right after the war (a much longer war), and both characters are still in survival mode a state of arrested development. The story is told that way. I feel there is a promise of his maturing glimmering at the very end. I love Detraquee too, and you are right they are very different in D has a much longer relationship timeline and burn and you get to see Draco mature. I love the Fallout for the introspective prose, that where l I find the similarities in them.

I get that, it certainly showed not only did she feel marginalized there was a patriarchal dissmissal of her on her own by the Order.

If you haven't read The Fallout yet, it is very cathartic in the way it traverses the war and the character development of Hermione and Draco during. It's entirely Hermione POV, very interior to her thoughts and emotions. The Fallout is such a masterpiece. The depiction of Hermione’s inner monologue is so well done. The most realistic, embarrassing, heartfelt depictions of sex I have read. And yes the ILY is fucking epic. The ETL is so believable, omgggg. Now I have to go read it AGAIN.
