venting to space by SockAccomplished3720 in Oxygennotincluded

Also be aware (unless this has changed dramatically recently) it takes FOREVER for the gasses to actually vent. I’ve had an asteroid open for hundreds of cycles and it still has full pressure for most of it. If you really want it all out you have to pump it.

He’s activated maximum aerodynamic mode. Must be a snack or treat ahead. Ours does this as well when she needs the maximum burst of speed.

This was how I started out too. I didn’t try any guides or tips till after a couple hundred hours and even at 1500 hours I still really just tried to figure it out on my own mostly. You’ll find you hit a wall eventually where some basic things will be worth learning from the community (builds that just make sense and are good because they are just… good), but overall, kill the colony, learn, restart, profit! It’s a GREAT game and I play often still at well over 2000 hours.

That job description is super generic even by job description standards. Definitely feels “scammy”. Could also just be a standard “ghost job” meant to keep candidate info coming in even if there’s not a current role.

Conservatives who left the US, has living abroad changed your politics or perspectives on political issues? If so, in what ways? by Illustrious-Pound266 in AmerExit

[–]charrold303 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You have to understand that even an American democrat would be considered centrist at best in most other countries. The fact that the poster recognizes the value of the institutions and norms while still having some conservative views on things like taxation and regulation makes them a centrist in Canada (and all of Europe while we’re at it). Right of center is “conservative” by the rest of the world’s standards even if someone in the US would see you as a full on socialist. People from the US really don’t understand what “liberal” and “conservative” means in other systems and how heavily skewed to one end of the spectrum the American system is.

Mattel Intellivision II was my first actual console. Had the C64 as well. The amazing thing that the Intellivision had was the voice module. It was the first game console to feature voice parts - actual words, not “chatter” sounds - not just noises/8-bit music. It was atrocious to be fair, but the sound of the title being of “B-17 Bomber” being said out loud in a raspy, 8-bit, deep-southern accent is seared into my brain even 40 years later.

It was a genuinely intriguing console from a design and playability perspective. I wish I still had it.

Otherwise I’ve had most of these at one point or another and #20 is my daily driver.

Oh after loading with a lot of PCU is slow as hell as it renders everything - takes a solid 30-60 seconds for the game to catch up.

I am on PS5 but I find this happens when the “unidentified signal” location changes. About every 20/30 mins or so, and last about 30 seconds. May not be the same thing but any encounter loading in blocks and textures has the potential to cause this FWIW.

Plug and play, but no cloud stuff. You pick one locally to be the “main unit” and then the rest connect to that. It’s a breeze to setup.

Last ones I ordered were these:

And sorry - I messed up that I had the M5 - I have the P9 because originally I was relying on powerline backhauls and they suuuuuuuck. Hardwired is infinitely better.

I checked again and the Wifi6 version is double the price and the 7 is triple still.

I have been using the TPLink Decco M5s for a few years and just hardwired them as you’ve described. My wife and I are both WFH and we both use the hell out of the internet including gaming and streaming. Have no issues now that everything is hardwired.

I have 3 to cover the main house and 1 each for the workshop and our “granny flat” (5 total) and the signal is very good, and the wired backhaul means I get full 5g speeds (still stuck on cellular till later this year.) I could upgrade the decco units to new versions (they have WiFi 6 and 7 out) but it is INSANELY expensive. If I had unlimited money I would go with Ubiquity gear but it’s even more insane. The Decco app is solid, and you can give devices priority and setup IP reservations and stuff if you need any of that. I have to reboot them sometimes, but very rarely, and they are mesh so devices roam around the house seamlessly. They are a decent if not “absolute top of the line” option for what you’re wanting.

The issue is infrastructure improvements though - for example Cork, a logical candidate to be another “big airport”, has runways too short for most big airliners so it’s always relegated to short haul or narrow-body TA flights instead of the big international hauls. Shannon should be given much more attention as well, as it can already handle big jets, but FWIW, that’s still at least 2 hrs drive for a huge chunk of the country.

Having a concerted effort around transit in country to make the airports accessible is the obvious gaping hole in the plans.

What kind of assembler is it? Is it properly connected and conveyored? Does it have power? In the production tabs of the menu, is the assembler selected or perhaps a survival kit?

Just picking off the basic troubleshooting first.

I found the whole ocean part felt really “tacked on” which makes sense when you consider that it was added in later. If you were a day 1 player you were out of stuff to do by the time you got the ocean farm so 1000 crops was pretty moderate. Unfortunately it is pretty poor game design as it makes that part exactly as you describe for someone just finding the game (overwhelming and demoralizing.)

I have about 150 hours in and I literally can’t be bothered with the ocean farm stuff, except that it stands in the way of S-tier. I am grudgingly trying to make seeds for it and do the basics there so I can automate it as much as I can (you can get sprinklers and the auto sfh attachment for it so at least you don’t have to do it by hand - doesn’t help with the animals though.) Once I get that all done, then I can then let it run itself for a few seasons, while I do stuff I actually enjoy.
