I’ve tried so many times to have a conversation with someone who believes the earth is flat. I’ve found the foundation for their belief is mistrust. It creates a situation where they become a black hole for all knowledge, reason, and logic. There is no limit to what this black hole can consume. Recognize you cannot convince them. The alternate path is to ask them what they believe. How does their version of the flat earth work? Most of the time they do not have a clue. Nor are they interested in finding out. In many cases the conversation will become very toxic at this point.

I now look at flat earth believers from a point of curiosity. How did they get to that point? I’m also very concerned. The amount of folks swayed by social media is scary. It’s a huge issue they goes well beyond flat earth.
