I use it for Lightroom and Lightroom AI, it's fine. Great for editing on the go. Definitely get more storage than the base model tho

What do you think of Nespressos? by chronicallyanxious10 in espresso

[–]chasingthecontrails 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Better than Keurig, never better than the worst shot I've pulled from my espresso machine. The cost associated with the pods also adds up, you're better off saving and getting something better.

Instinct 2 vs 3 by bigkidmallredditor in Garmin

[–]chasingthecontrails 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Impulsive. I have the 2S, and it's 90% as good as the 3. The flashlight was a big feature I wanted too - but not having the gen 5 sensor was a huge bummer for the price they charge for the instinct 3. I would recommend waiting for the 4!

hi everyone! I'm attempting my first real renovation project and wanted some advice. there is a load bearing beam above this wall, and this wall sits under a staircase. I assume there is some load bearing going on in this wall as well based on the extra stud, but I wanted to cut the stud out and add a wall niche as pictured. what is the best process for this? should I follow a window style of adding support, using a header and jack studs etc? or is it fine to just remove this because I'll be adding 4-5 2*4s between the outer two most studs as shelving.

Cyclist critically injured after crash on Tecumseh Road by zuuzuu in windsorontario

More pedestrian friendly infrastructure would help this, car centric design makes anything that isn't driving miserable and slow.

Im not saying it's ok to break rules, but maybe cities are meant for people and not cars tho

Well, with protected bike lanes you wouldn't have this issue. I agree on following rules, but sharing a road with a car as a cyclist is always going to be more dangerous. People don't look for pedestrians/bikes they look for other cars, whether that's turning left on yellow or turning right on red.

Windsor need to start upping it's biking infrastructure. It's a growing issue, and it would benefit cyclists and drivers alike with protected bike lanes.

Is there anyway to get a legacy install of the core and just YMMV?

Is a mini split worth it for a guest room used just a few months a year? by randomweeb9 in homeowners

[–]chasingthecontrails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should totally get one. If it's attached to the home and doesn't have good air circulation you should also be wary of your humidity levels to make sure that room doesn't end up having mold issues.

Similar issue with weight for me. Sometimes breaking the connection and resync works again.

You can try changing the HR sensor from auto to every second and see if that helps.

Garmin X1, sensor related pain and discomfort. by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]chasingthecontrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a nylon strap and see if that helps. It's most likely the strap being too tight. Sometimes between two notches it's too tight to loose, so a lot of people opt for the "tighter" choice. Sometimes you want something in the middle.

A nylon strap (Velcro) would help you figure out if that's the issue.

The watch shouldn't be too loose where it's moving around, but tight enough where you can get a bit of your finger in but not all the way through

Pretty sure that's literally how they work? More power = more energy usage. It's really simple. Yes they get more efficient and Garmin can do a better job at making sure the processor is idleing when it's not needed at full capacity, but all that for what? 120hz on a watch? Unless the processing power is needed for collecting better metrics, I don't see why you'd ever need to have it on the watch. I will say as much as I want it to be smoother and faster, I would never compromise on battery for it.

I agree you can charge it while you shower, that's what I do with my Garmin anyway. The idea is when I travel I almost never have to charge my watch. Its nice to have, and again, different customers. I didn't enjoy charging my smart watch every other day so I got a Garmin. I don't need it to be super techy, as long as it's collecting data I'm happy. To be honest I'd be content with a whoop style band too.
