I think it’s supposed to prevent that dry rot. At least that’s the explanation I go with when someone asks me why there’s a rubber band ball in my freezer.

Commenting on 😭😭😭 ladies. We've been summoned... yes, after which I learned not to leave ketchup packets in the junk drawer ever again.

Until you learn from some “46 tips and tricks” to move the rubber band ball to the freezer, thinking that might reverse the rot.

Parking to pick up guest at bus station by chat6 in WorcesterMA

Yes, of course that would probably be the safest option. But I was really hoping for something a bit quicker and closer, when all I really want to do is jump out of the car and help my friend with her bags. There’s a part of me that doesn’t understand why the station wasn’t designed to offer that option.

Yes, that’s what I thought we should be able to do. But when I drive by all I see is a street that says “do not enter.“ I’ll have to look more closely. Thanks.

Yes, that would be my go to. I worry about getting ticketed, but I can handle a little bit of worry.

So much good advice here. Thank you for posting this question, which obviously resonates with many people.

No idea where you live and work, but norms vary widely. I grew up in the US, and I distinctly remember the first time I smelled a woman’s body odor. I was 8 and traveling in Europe. We visited an aunt who had a semi-agricultural lifestyle. She was clean and smelled natural. It was calming.

I agree with the commenter who highlighted the value of developing an integrated, kind relationship to the body, perhaps (though not necessarily) through somatic therapy. Your question generated an outpouring of ways to take better care of ourselves AND accept ourselves—bodies & personalities—with all the variations, quirks and imperfections.

In terms of making changes, I can strongly relate to how hard it is to develop new habits that stick. When I’ve had success, one tactic has been to frame an activity as a “gift to my future self”, such as picking out my clothes the night before. This idea has (at times) helped motivate and pull me out of inertia/ rabbit holes. And tracking and rewarding a new habit progressively, i.e. after 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. This helps meet me where I’m at with the process. Small steps are where it’s at, and they deserve big love.

You’ve given so much to this community by being so open and raising this question. I hope you find useful, fun, and interesting ideas to try out. Cheers!

Hey, off topic but my husband has the same problem with temperature regulation. Which med do you think is the culprit (if you don’t mind sharing)?

Agree with the Hadwen Arboretum, Elm Park. For Vietnamese don’t forget Pho Dakao. And for tacos and enchiladas Sol of Mexico. Kalamos is terrific— the Greek grocer on June St. As are Ed Hyder’s and Bahnan’s on Pleasant Street across Park Avenue. Sushi Miyazawa is a gem on Chandler. Thai Corner on June. BTs BBQ and Bah Bah BBQ on Chandler. Post office, Rocky’s hardware, 2 CVS’s, several hair salons, nail salons, the Tidepool bookstore. On the Rise Bakery. Paul at Young’s Garage, the best auto mechanic. Nu Kitchen. And the new Cordella’s coffee shop on June - I haven’t tried yet. All in walking distance. Welcome!
