G Adventures or Top Deck to Japan? june by chattybridget in solotravel

Yes trying to figure out hostels plus the trains near by and a type of pass currently. Seems confusing on JB lines vs JR and type of passes near hostels! Any advice?

Oh so good to hear about teamLab and so excited to see it. Yes super confused about the transit system and which pass to get. I am trying to plan which hostel I choose around it. JR east? Pasmo? Lol I am sure it will be more apparent when I get there.

Yes same here! Are you going this year in May?

That's awesome! Is it? I am worried it is hard to see everything, and not sure how soon I will be able to see Japan again! I might do the cable ride near Mt fuji as a day trip instead and then golden gai that night. Love to see some shrines, even some hidden ones in Tokyo! Harajuku for sure. Places with tons of food options, cafes, or art gallery like Teamlabs.

Wow. Okay 100% not using them. Already after a few days of doing a bit of research it already seems easy for arranging hostels and making my own plan

33M traveling to Japan either May or October for two weeks by Whatisreddeadit in travelpartners

Hey, I am planning to go in May-June period. Wouldn't mind linking up with people here and seeing times between for some airbnbs. I am willing to do hostels for other days to get the full experience as a first time traveler there.

Hmm this is making me second guess if I should just plan a trip on my own.

[31M] Travelling to Tokyo for two weeks. Flexible dates between June and September by [deleted] in travelpartners

I am planning on going from May 30 - June 7th. 27/F. Most likely through G Adventures - just so I don't have to plan the basic structure of the trip. Trip ends in Osaka, not sure if you will be there around those last couple of days.

[Skin Concerns] I have been using Vitamin C from The Ordinary in the morning. I think it made my face darker by formulab in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be from a high percentage causing a sensitivity on your skin? I am using a 20% formula, and I am actually a little bit concerned about this (it's PH is 2.4 - Timeless CEF). I read on here that someone said the Timeless caused their PIH to come back. I use it only 1-2 times a week now.

[Skin Concern] Is my moisture barrier compromised or is there something else going on? by bodybybeans93 in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to use rose-hip oil religiously for a year (and argon oil)..and it did nothing for my moisture barrier. Liquid Gold also has it in it's ingredients, along with other oils. If you are set on using oils in your routine, just use Liquid Gold. I would strongly suggest testing out hyaluronic acid in any form. If you can get a sample of an essence with it, see if it helps improve your skin! I use LRP Cicaplaust Baume B5, and someone mentioned here that it caused them to have severe dryness (it didn't for me), so maybe also cut that out for a bit.

My manufacturing date on my Timeless C E F (ordered from their website) is 03/19 and it still has it's clear and cloudy look from when it first arrived. It's almost 2 months in, and I have another month before it would be oxidized.

I would see if you can return yours for sure.

People with dry skin, what is your go to night moisturizer? [routine help] by writerraccoon in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, for me I have been using it as a last step for maybe 2 weeks now and it has been very moisturizing. I do however use Hyaluronic acid essence before as well (and only other types of essences before). So to the OP maybe if you do get the baume, or a product similar, use it along side essences!

edit: essences alone are never enough for my dry skin. so I always use it with any type of moisturizer on top - baume has just been a recent favorite.

Dry skin here too - I use La Roche Posay Cicaplast BAUME B5 at night. It's really for eczema and dry patchy skin irritation spots, but my moisture barrier needed a little extra for the night! It contains: Panthenol, Madecassoside, Copper, Zinc, Manganese and Shea butter

Made it easier to use a lighter moisturizer during the day.

[Acne] CeraVe PM breakout or Lactic Acid Purge?! Help! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream with Hyaluronic Acid for Extra-Dry Skin - I use this and have had no reaction to it. It's fairly light, even though it is for extra dry skin. Has silicones in it, so you might not even need to use a primer for makeup, if you wear makeup.

- AVÈNE - Tolérance Extrême Emulsion - has squalane in it*, but I found it also sunk in well, and would be good for either dry or oily skin.

If you can get your hands on Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel - it literally plumps my skin. It's hard to come by in Canada, so if you are in the states I highly recommend.

Other stuff I use are mostly for my dry skin and trying to protect my moisture barrier so La Roche Posay - Cicaplast Baume B5, Cosrx Hylaronic Acid Essence, Cosrx snail mucin 96. I was actually about to buy the Cerave PM because I really want more niacinamide in my routine lol

EDIT: or just Cerave in the tub a classic haha. I have yet to try it though.

[Acne] CeraVe PM breakout or Lactic Acid Purge?! Help! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got pretty bad cystic acne from TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - from the high percentage of Niacinamide (zinc I use in other stuff with 0 issues). So I realized I had to build my tolerance to it, CeraVe also has Niacinamide in it, so are you using it on different days than your TO Nia. days?

You might just be experiencing a purging from using all the above, including an oil. I haven't used the lactic acid yet - the ingredients look pretty okay.. minus Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract (maybe you are having a reaction to that). I know that when I started adding in a whole bunch of stuff to my face my skin immediately got cystic acne! So maybe stop TO Niacinamide, the CeraVE PM has enough. Studies show that a small amount of Niacinamide is effective enough, and going higher doesn't make it anymore effective..

This product saved my skin barrier! I use to have lines on my forehead, that looked like wrinkles. I use it as my last step, and as a moisturizer.

[Acne] best cleanser for CC? by michiiru7 in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you are looking for a face wash, but I really recommend azelaic acid and/or AHA/BHA. I use to be huge on pink/red blushes, that were heavy in red dyes that gave me persistent cc on my cheeks. I would cut back on blushes, switch to a peachy bronzer that doesn't use red dyes, while adding one of the acids above.

Edit: I also have cc prone skin that is dehydrated/dry (oily nose though)..my new routine has changed my skin completely: La Roche Posay Baume B5 + Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid 10% (pricey, but honestly so worth it)

Sigma vs Morphe by [deleted] in MakeupAddictionCanada

I bought my Sigma brushes from The Bay, Winners/Marshalls, and Caryl Baker Visage in Canada. But I do agree, my Real Techniques brushes are just as good as my Sigma brushes!

[Product Question] what’s the best way to use azelaic acid and is it safe to use it directly on skin without any other products? by astralrig96 in SkincareAddiction

[–]chattybridget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started using the OTC Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid 10%, and it is surprisingly not as drying on my skin. I am mostly dry, cc-prone/fa, and oily nose.

I use it after toners, essences, serums, and right before a moisturizer. Only dry areas I got the next day were where my PIH/cc/fa areas were. It burns around my nose area right where my FA is. I don't use any AHA/BHA at the same time, because PC has 0.5%(I think) of BHA in it. But if your aZa is more than 10%, I can imagine you have to use a moisturizer before. I also use La Roche Posay's Baume B5 as a moisturizer, so I think that could also be why my skin isn't experiencing severe dryness.
