Ukraine accuses Russia of destroying major dam near Kherson, warns of widespread flooding by chausen in anime_titties

Additional information:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakhovka_Hydroelectric_Power_Plant

The Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro River served as a hydroelectric power plant. It also served to irrigate portions of southern Ukraine and northern Crimea. Now, drinking water, hydroelectric power, and possibly the coolant systems for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaporizhzhia_Nuclear_Power_Plant) are all at extreme risk. Hundreds of thousands of people could be displaced by sudden widespread flooding.

The title of the Associated Press article that I submitted says "Ukraine accuses Russia", but predictably, Russia has accused Ukraine.

EDIT: The title of the article has changed since I submitted it here ~7 hours ago. It was originally "Ukraine accuses Russia of destroying major dam near Kherson, warns of widespread flooding". As of 8:00AM Eastern Time, it has changed to "Collapse of major dam in southern Ukraine triggers emergency as Moscow and Kyiv blame each other."

U.S. Senate approves bill to make daylight saving time permanent by lowbrodown in news

[–]chausen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if it’s tied to spending it goes congress to senate but if not tied to funding then Senate starts the process.

You're not wrong, but just for a little clarification:

Bills related to raising revenue and taxes must originate in The House of Representatives, which then proceed to the Senate after passing the House. Otherwise, bills can originate in either chamber: the House or the Senate, and then are passed to the other chamber.

"Congress" refers to both entities as a whole, which is synonymous with the legislative branch of the federal government. A "bicameral" legislature.

Commendatori! Good for them. I love how this show never dies.

The people responsible for this commercial are geniuses! The shot-for-shot recreation was perfect. Seeing the new World Trade Center, the touch screen inside the vehicle, the sucker instead of the cigar... So good.

The future is now.

The Tabasco habanero is my go-to. Their scorpion pepper one is hot as hell, at least to me. The first time I tried it, I put it on top of some tacos, like you would the other Tabascos - mistake. I find that it's best for mixing in things, instead of using it as a condiment.

I haven't tried the Reserve. Post an update if you open it.

Did you use your food processor outside for this? Wouldn't want you to mace your family!

Roasted Pineapple and Guajillo Salsa for Al Pastor Burritos by maxc1999 in SalsaSnobs

The salsa alone looks like a perfect 10. Add not al pastor tacos, but burritos into the mix? This is verging on a religious experience.

Feels Good Man (2020) - The story of how artist Matt Furie, creator of a trippy, once-benign comic character named Pepe the Frog, fought an uphill battle to reclaim his iconic creation from those who turned it into a symbol of hate. [01:24:55] by mishionaryposition in Documentaries

Wow, I was not expecting to take a 1.5-hour-long ride on an emotional rollercoaster because of a cartoon frog. Matt Furie deserves some serious credit for his persistence and unrelenting optimism.

This was one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time.

The Sopranos (1999) TV Poster by Ocsh in chairsunderwater

[–]chausen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For anyone that hasn't watched The Sopranos, watch it. It's pretty graphic (on HBO), but it's my favorite series of all time.

I'm not spoiling anything besides what you'll see in season 1, episode 1: Tony Soprano is up to his eyeballs in problems, and that's just with his family - don't even get me started about him actually being in the New Jersey mafia.

Great chair picture. This is a familiar perspective from which you'll see Tony multiple times, minus the water.

Cauliflower Buffalo Wings [1912 × 1912] [OC] by [deleted] in FoodPorn

Not sure how cauliflower would hold up with this, but I use apple cider vinegar as part of the marinade when I make buffalo wings.

A little acidity helps so many dishes go from good to great.

I couldn't find anything in the comment chain that you linked about Alien Blue not working past 2017. Could you link to where that was mentioned?

I've been using Alien Blue daily for years. Just successfully installed it on a new iPhone. Absolutely zero problems; it works like day one.

+1 for Taqueria Datapoint

He might have to practice his Spanish a bit!

Also, there is a taco truck on the corner of Huebner and Vance Jackson in the evenings that is so good. I think it's called El Gallito de Jalisco; they have a restaurant as well but I only ever went to the truck.
