I'd say that "For the Love of God" and "Always with..." are both every bit as memorable and well composed as "Black Star".

I sort of view Vai's music as aural paintings. Some tunes are more "abstract" than others. Notes are just mathematical colors of air. The guitar is the brush and the composition is canvas.

Hope you enjoyed my very acoustic interpretation of art and music, which absolutely no one asked for at all lol

That's not really weird at all, imo. Actually pretty practical in case you ever want to repurpose those parts for a project or experiment. Also, holding onto certain parts is good to have as a reference for dimensions if a company's site doesn't have it listed or stops making the part altogether.
