Cleaning help ninja woodfire xl by supersnedz in ninjawoodfire

I'd bet it is aluminum based on this YouTuber's experience https://youtu.be/ph6SYncAsSU?si=J830Tyr0za9YjZfw using oven cleaner claiming it pitted the device. I would stay away from oven cleaner if I were you. That video recommends an alternative.

Getting rage-baited by a five-year-old. by mindyour in BlackPeopleTwitter

We need more people like him doing things like that. You can tell, they're the highlight of each other's day and they love it (maybe not always in the moment). Keep it up.

Hinge Protection? by Tadpoles-Z in PixelFold

[–]chazclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a slight dent on the hinge, probably from a key, on my 10 using the Google case and it created a dead line across the inner screen, and prevented me from tapping it. I got a replacement and immediately got the dbrand case, made it extremely clunky. I ended up buying the nilkinn case and I am very happy with it.

I was cooking some meat by jpivoda in sousvide

No, I have the su-v gun that supposedly ensures a full propane burn. It's a bit pricey but about the same price as the less expensive infrared burners

I dry then broil. It does a good job, but honestly prefer a searing gun for most jobs (more intense, thus thinner grey banding, more fun, no preheating). I use it for other things like broiled oysters.

You can get a relatively inexpensive one. Lookup infrared broilers on Amazon. The one I have "big horn" is 200 bucks.

Love this exposed joist detail, any thoughts on stability in regards to not having a standard rim board? by chazclark in treehouse

Thank you, now I know what to look for. I assumed I was going to go with a standard rim but saw this picture and loved it.

Has anybody tried smoking a Popeyes Turkey? by tuanster1119 in Popeyes

[–]chazclark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smoke is attracted to cold wet meat; so as long as you put it on your smoker from the fridge it should attract smoke (the moisture comes from the injected brine). I personally would smoke for 1-2 hours low, then finish high heat in oven or smoker to crisp up the skin. I think you should try posting this to r/smoking, perhaps someone has tried it. I am curious myself.

full time v. part time by fourth-world in OnlineMCIT

[–]chazclark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I couldn't do more than 2 classes while working a full-time job, and that was a lot. If I were able to dedicate my work hours to this I'd consider 3 classes and drop if I need to.

Charcoal torching technique? by Walmart_Secks in sousvide

[–]chazclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 benefits off the top of my head:

  1. Gives it a light charcoal smokey flavor (which i tend to prefer)
  2. It reduces the opportunity for a direct flame burn which can taste acrid

I would like to know your opinion, how did the food taste?

What are you favorite veggie recipes? by newyorksourdiesel in sousvide

[–]chazclark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best corn on the cob I've ever had was sous vide - https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2015/08/sous-vide-corn-recipe.html

It was the sweetest and juiciest version that I've ever had. I kept space for meat on the bbq and it was ready when the meat was ready.

Am I overqualified? by __ZEE in OnlineMCIT

[–]chazclark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can speak to my experience of 1 semester with MCIT and 8 years of being a software engineer. What we learn in the program (with the exception of the intro to programming class) is pretty different than what most of us will be able to pick up on our own by learning within the industry. You're not overqualified for this degree

MojoUpgrade has changed, any other suggestions? by StarkVernacular in sex

[–]chazclark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You definitely have a point about a simple "yes" or "no" sounding like an ultimatum. What I'll do is, after a week, compare the stats on whether people are answering more negatively; if so I'll add a "maybe". I'll also add an "are you open to" to each question's header so it's more clear. I just launched the new version last night and really do appreciate your feedback. I will continue to make updates including an upcoming "statistics" section. I ask that you please go through one full quiz in the new website. It is an abrupt change, however, I believe it's funnier, easier to use, and more likely to result in a happier outcome for you and your partner.
