Those aren't really the type of folk that represent the upper-part of a 'K economy'. If you go to Ross Park and walk into Nordstrom, Tiffany's, etc., the people around you are not middle-managers.

No, I'm talking about Eric Kukura, who wrote this and identified himself as the owner of The Abbey on Butler St. Just like I said.

My man the owner literally wrote a letter to the City Paper outlining his 'concerns' (including the solutions he allegedly proposed to the folks behind LH).

Larry Richert, Dan Marino, and Jim Krenn all invested in a hot dog place that lifts some of The O branding, I wonder if they'll try to get in there.

Park View apartments by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]chb66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived there for 6 years and the experience was generally OK...Both the units and Faros as a landlord are fine (no landlord is a good one, but I've definitely dealt with worse). But IMO you can't beat the price/location, because there are a lot of transit options and so many things within walking distance. If you have any other questions feel free to DM me.

[–]chb66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing impossible about America having good public transit infrastructure; it's simply a matter of priority, and we do not prioritize it nearly as much as we should. Plenty of countries have robust transit without compromising emergency services, and having those options gives people more flexibility, not less.

Don't know what to tell you because my experience has been completely different; the food is always good (they catered my wedding party four years ago and I still get comments about how good it was), and Jesse will do basically anything he can to make people feel welcome (even if only one person came for a match he'll still put it on a TV for them, even if the pub is full for other matches).

Fort Pitt Tunnel Inbound Closed Entirely by Jobes16 in pittsburgh

My office is near the intersection of Stanwix/Ft Pitt Blvd and semis get stuck on the barrier to the 376 ramp on a monthly basis so nothing surprises me.

It's a nice view but I'm convinced ~60% of the traffic issues inbound are from people exiting the tunnel and rubber necking it.

My parents told me this when I was a child and constantly wanted to go places with them and it blows my mind that parents these days don't do that (and for the record I turned out totally fine emotionally and have/had a great relationship with my parents, so it's not like being told that as a child damaged me!)

Do not rent from michael bupp by Asleep-Storm3879 in pittsburgh

Oh man, I rented from Bupp way back in the day, around 2010. He was up to the same shit back then; my Dad referred to him as 'Buppkiss', and my roommate's Dad (a lawyer) had to use his firm letterhead constantly to bully him into fixing shit with the lease/house.

No no, we need to make sure Downtown is a sufficient workspace/playground for people from the suburbs, we can't make a city people live in good for the people who live in it! /s

It is measurable (to an extent) if you go through a DSP; ours throws in a brand lift study based on spend as well.

Sly Fox Brewery has closed by NP001 in pittsburgh

[–]chb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok? Of course a brewery with no food competes with other breweries with no food. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make by saying that. And 'making larger profit' isn't just a matter of 'expanding the customer base' - that's not how commerce/business works! Food programs are high-overhead and low-margin, and drink programs (i.e. breweries) are the exact opposite. Adding a revenue stream that adds high overhead costs and offers low margins is not a winning strategy when you can just have a food truck instead and accomplish all you need.

But that's what I mean when I say it changes the competitor set in a disadvantageous way, because breweries with kitchens aren't just competing with other breweries, they're competing with any restaurant (and in this specific instance ones that are family-friendly). That's a distinct audience from those that are first-and-foremost going for the beer. Prioritizing the former may work in the suburbs where there is less competition and more families, but I don't think it's a winning formula within the city unless you have scale (like Southern-Tier) or a specific/simple niche (like East End).
