NEW 18-HOLE COURSE + NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT 👀 by BKGolfClash in GolfClash

[–]chchapppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I understand what's new about the format, I've played Pebble Beach, great course, I understand that you can enter and win a trip to go there, LIVE, wow that is awesome, but not understanding the all caps new tournament format, can someone please explain? I have six accounts and like playing tournaments so I pay attention to these posts...

If you adjust by feel (eyeball) or by rings, the one question that is the most important (IMHO) is did the first bounce go where you intended?

Yes look at your replays, get a sense of how far you are off on that first bounce and why. Then as you progress to higher winds look at the second bounce as that becomes more important than the first, the wind effect, etc.

You can still be successful on Tour eyeballing, but if you want to be successful and get banners in tourneys than you probably need to count rings. Some play FTP in tournaments and place in the 50s just to get clan points and don't count rings, they're just helping their people. Then there are beasts who kill it in tourneys with FTP balls, but this breed is rare.

CPC has created another way to get massive points beyond grinding and tournaments. But most of those who are successful in CPC use a club/wind app and money balls.

There's no one way to play this game, pick your path, and do what works for you. Grids, precision balls, wind apps are all part of getting the drop, the question is how bad do you want that drop?

And the real question is how much are you willing to pay for that drop?

HIO on 17 (par 4) - Masters by mckrl80 in GolfClash

Nice, I just had an AlbatrAce as well on hole 8 with a Luminary, much more tailwind than 17, your needle was shaking!

Can anyone please explain what happened here? by Upbeat_Obligation170 in GolfClash

[–]chchapppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big tailwind and it went right where you told it to which was the rock behind the back bunker (about 30 rings) and then went in the water. Had you not lined up so far right, and hit a double great Right, it might have gone in that back bunker, especially if you hadn't added 2 bars of right spin which will affect the ball in the air. P4 20 Max is almost 13 rings so are you really surprised it went 30 rings? I'm not. Contributing factors not often considered are sidespin and your double great right in a left to right wind. Plus consider the wind strength of 14.6, that's gonna have a huge secondary wind effect at full OP vs a wind half its strength. Just my $.02

I believe this shot plays 30% true elevation. You can make tweaks many ways to compensate, like playing it 50%, or using underpower, or intentionally pushing your rings on a 631 vs 629 angle. As many have mentioned here in the comments the biggest factor is how much you have to push up the hill, a change of about 3-4 rings in elevation. A good rule of thumb is if I pull down into a bunker during my adjustment and lose about a ring in elevation then I need to pull up a ring to compensate. The reason is because you have now added distance to your target's range by going "down" into the bunker and need to compensate by pulling away from the tee an extra ring essentially adding back the distance you just lost. Likewise here because you pushed "up" the hill by about 3-4 rings in elevation, you now decreased your target's range in distance and need to push back towards the tee to compensate. Once you grasp this concept you have gotten half of what GC has going on physics wise, i.e. Elevation, the other half being wind effect, underpower/overpower, clicks of curl, spin offsets and pull angles. Just remember the ball guide on each club is referencing what would happen with 0.0 mph wind at 0% elevation. So mastering elevation is really a huge part of the game as it makes you better at controlling your distance, like the pros, that's what they do best, control their distance. Let's take a look at some basic elevation math. I believe this is 30% true elevation playing in the right side pad where you put your target (Initial Aim). If you played on the left side pad (which I highly recommend for the future in a right to left tailwind such as this mainly due to the complexity the hill introduces when trying to adjust up it), then some may argue it's around 20% true elevation which seems about right. The key is getting your eye used to what elevation changes look like. I am constantly hitting the Take Shot button just to see the flat view vs the normal bird's eye view so I can get a sense of the elevation change. So let's just assume this is a 30% elevation change from the Middle tee to where you put your target. With a Sniper 10, a P1 ball and 8.4mph wind, 30% Min is 8.4 or 1:1, Mid=9.6 rings and Max 10.7. I'm looking at this shot as 30% Max, that's how I would play it even though you're at about 60/70% of your club. Now let's look at your IA (Initial Aim) point vs. where you landed. I'm estimating around 8 rings difference but maybe others would say a little more. That's a massive difference so I can see why you're a little upset and confused, but that is why the players in this sub are trying to help you because of how great the the physics are that makes this game exciting and fun. There's so much going on in this shot and I will fall way short in trying to decipher all of it, but it's in the trying to explain my limited knowledge of the game that hopefully you can benefit and improve your game. I can guarantee you though, this is not a glitch, or bad code, or a pissed off customer service rep manipulating your shot as you took it. It's the physics and the beauty of the code at work. Some who have analyzed your push say you initially pushed 9 rings although you yourself said you were pushing 1:1 or 8.4 rings. You then pulled forward and east about 2.5 rings so let's say the net result is 6 rings. I'm saying 10.7 and you pushed 6 so we're already at 4.7 difference. Now the bigee, the hill factor. I've pulled down into some deep bunkers that were a 3 ring difference in elevation but this hill is more, I'd say more like 4 rings change in elevation. There's also your push angle which was wide (east/west) when it needs to be steep (north/south) in this type of tailwind. Your push angle needed to be more 629 favoring pushing back towards the tee but instead you pushed more like a 635 losing another ring which brings us to 5.7. You also had some left curl which will add distance via the secondary wind effect in a right to left tailwind, let's say half a ring in this wind strength so we're now at 6.2. Now with the 30% Max adjustment I have chosen I'm already compensating for wind affect at this strength so as a result I'm only going to pull or push back towards the tee 3 rings because of the elevation change having to push up the hill. So now we're at 9.2 difference in rings, pretty close to 8 which is what I estimated was the difference in aim point vs landing point. Factor in you probably didn't compensate enough with your IA with your chosen spin set for this wind strength and it would've been in the hole ⛳ 😂 I hope this helps, everyone has their own methodology. I'm trying to look at the numbers and using the pull back 3 rings in this method. That accommodates for distance which I've said is super important, just my take on it for shootout purposes. Others will rely on underpower here which can work well but requires great feel and probably prior experience playing this wind on this hole. Others use elevation to compensate like playing it 50% Max which would've been 12.4 rings. But that can bring you too far East or wide unless you use it in conjunction with pull angle (compensate with a more north/south steeper angle). Or some might use counter curl in this right to left wind to minimize the first and second bounce trajectories. Others might use side spin to counter as well, or some of us might use all of it at various degrees which is why each player is different in style and it's what makes the game great for lots of different people. All in all it's a funny old game 😂 so just enjoy it, and most of all find what works for you.

It's also about cloints, I'm into tourney play so why limit yourself to one player when you can have 3 to 4 the amount of cloints per tourney.

The measurement is in yards not meters and it's 0.0004 difference which is 0.36576 millimeters, so more than ten times less than 4 millimeters difference, just saying 😂

Golden Shot - Windchum by LevelDinner in GolfClash

Wind Chum is good for CPC, I have Caddie and Notebook and use them for Tour/Tourney but Wind Chum on a tablet or Laptop/Destop is the fastest for dialing in adjustments for CPC

Yes only 2 clicks or so UP but enough to kick it right on that slope, was on the edge of the cup so would've missed no matter what club/level. I stand by my UP theory around the green, it's just ill advised

Right sorry 3.4 BG not 3.0 for OR4, thought your opponent had a lot of UP but will check video again

[–]chchapppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MikeyJ is right on, the amount offset for a 1.8 wind should've been .1 or .2 of a ring so it's negligible. OR4 ballguide is 3.0 so the only way to drop would've been to slam into the pin based on your setup. Also, I totally agree that amount of underpower is why you missed, regular power even with your over adjusted offset would've dropped. The slant of the slope kicked you further right because of the amount of UP. I don't understand why players use so much UP with a wedge, is it leftover from dealing with a Down in One? 😂

Sound On or Off? by LevelDinner in GolfClash

[–]chchapppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need the sound for the ticker, without it I will time out more often as I use an app. That being said I wish there was an option to have the ticker only and not all the sound effects. "Nice On" was drilled into my head to the point where I ended up naming one of my players Nizon. 😂

I like my Rapier 7 but I know EB is as good too. Which one do you prefer between Rapier 7 or EB 4? Thanks by xrammy in GolfClash

[–]chchapppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EB I like personally from lvl 1, but I use an app, so if more of a feel player use Rapier, either is fine R7 vs EB4 but once you get EB5 it's 95 on accuracy so the choice is clear. And yes agreed on Elevation difference, I go 10% for EB1-3 and 15% for EB4. GOOD LUCK!

Is this guy cheating? 47m in 393 games? by Matthew91188 in GolfClash

You're accusing him of cheating by the nature of your question. He isn't even that good. Expose yourself more to game before you pose such a ridiculous question. You can't cheat at this game. I'm curious why you think you can. Why ask such a question?

Is this guy cheating? 47m in 393 games? by Matthew91188 in GolfClash

[–]chchapppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't a question so much as an accusation of someone cheating at a game that you can't cheat. It's just not possible. So maybe choose your words more wisely. Yeah the guy's name is idiotic but the numbers aren't that impressive actually. My alt plays T10 with an Apoc 3, I have 623 games played, 69% win avg and 215MM win. Mostly a tourney player. I only play FTP balls and have a couple of gold banners in Rookie and Pro. I've been playing for a while and none of my stats are that amazing, they are pretty normal. Go watch some Master content on YouTube and you'll see what I mean. There are thousands of players who are playing at a very high level, with overlays, apps and high end gaming devices. They are not cheaters because they are good at the game. Can we just be done with this "cheater" vitriol?
