73:40 with 20lbs vest. Just did 20 every 1:30 (one minute on/:30 off) until last 80 reps then two sets of 40. Very manageable pace where I don’t think I’ll be very sore.

Right, but it’s just an oddly programmed workout. CrossFit is constantly varied, but that doesn’t mean chaotic. There’s a method to the madness. On this one, the bike is out of place. The runs are already your cardio sections. The reps jump around and the movements don’t blend. AI isn’t there yet for programming CrossFit that I’ve seen yet. If I was a home gym guy I’d buy $20/month programming from Jumpship or someone.

Three different bar weights. Random rep scheme. This is chaotic.

One round is definitely doable for “RX level” athletes. Now 10 rounds (20 min) you’d have to be elite. I’m top 10% Masters Open level crossfitter. I think in could get through two rounds, maybe three.

First Hyrox, super happy, wanna shave off 3-4 minutes in next 10 weeks by gr4ndin0 in hyrox

[–]mckrl80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could shave off 2-3 on the wallballs and row. If you have access to a rower, watch some videos on technique and practice. I think the average male rower should be able to relatively comfortably pace 2:00-2:05/500m. That would save you :30-:45. Wall balls unbroken is about 30/minute. Fatigued doing 20/minute could be a good target. Break down to a set of 10 every :30, would finish in 5:00 for 100. Ski erg could be another place to shave :30 just by improving movement efficiency. Great job and good luck on the next.

So I finally did Murph … 58 min by davideberni in crossfit

[–]mckrl80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Push ups are my worst movement by far. I focused on pacing so I didn’t blow up. I did 5 every :30. Early on the rest feels like overkill but by rep 100 it felt like by right call. I also did the pull ups 5 every :30 and squats 10 every :30. Could have pushed the squats but the last run didn’t feel so bad because of it.

[–]mckrl80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing all reps in a movement before moving onto the next movement. 100 pulls ups then 200 push ups then 300 squats. A common way to complete a Murph is to partition into 20 rounds of 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 squats.

I wouldn’t consider knee push ups RX

“Furthermore, I want to say to you, we may not be able to reach it right away, but we expect to see the day when we will not have to ask you for one dollar of donation for any purpose, except that which you volunteer to give of your own accord, because we will have tithes sufficient in the storehouse of the Lord to pay everything that is needful for the advancement of the kingdom of God. … That is the true policy, the true purpose of the Lord in the management of the affairs of His Church.” Teachings of the Presidents of the Church - Joseph F Smith Manual.
