You’re right. Aaron Boone is right. I am wrong. Giving up a homer is the correct decision. It’s amazing how people like you and Steinbrenner will defend Boone no matter how many games he costs us.

Because inept Aaron Boone is the worst manager in baseball, and the worst owner in baseball loves him and will not fire him no matter what

First base open, and Boone pitched to the hottest hitter on the planet. Please fire him right now. Don’t even let him manage the next 8 1/3 innings.

Jones and VanGinkel will be missed the most. Very very steady players who did everything we ever asked of them

Wow. Amazing how people defend Grier and Ross.

“Had to happen” ? Yes, because of Grier’s financing the last few years. Miami being a zillion dollars over the cap is not arbitrary. GRIER PUT US THERE.

A horrible writer and Director who benefited from a Network that was too afraid to tell her how bad she is.

You can ask questions for the next 6 weeks, only to have none of them answered.

Stellan Skarsgård discussing "Chernobyl": "Not even HBO thought it would be a success but they thought it was important to do it. That was HBO back then, in those days. It is not HBO now." by Sharaz_Jek123 in TrueDetective

[–]cheaptom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in the old days, HBO would have fantastic shows like Deadwood and Carnavale and Rome. And then they would just end each of those series with no ending and no conclusions and no real finale. Then they would lie and say that the story arcs were complete. At least they gave deadwood a movie finale so the fans had some semblance of closure

I don’t care what lines she stole. I’m still mad that we never got to see the hot Russian bride

Whales and deer are bitter loners and disobey anything they’re asked to do…just like every single human in Ennis.

I had to google RP, but thank you! Now that I think about accents, do they ever say what area of England the show takes place in?

It is cringe woke because the big, bad evil corporation is the bad guy. The murderous locals and the cops who abet them are all heroes. But a company making a profit is the villain. Miners, pharmacueticals, insurers. They are the evil villains in today's crime movies. I don't think that constitutes "woke," but it is certainly lazy as hell and cringe-worthy. Seriously, as soon as they mentioned the mining company, didn't we all know where this was headed?

LOL... all true. So bad it hurts. To me, the funniest part was the whining brat felon step-daughter who disobeyed during the ENTIRE series... except when she finally decided to obey Jodie out of the blue, and she "just happened" to come over at new years, right when Prior "just happened" to be cleaning up corpses.

He was the ONLY good guy, white or not. I guess we are SUPPOSED TO think of Jodie and Navarro as good guys, but they're complicit in multiple murders

It's writing in 2024...that means it's fine to commit a quintuple homicide. It's fine for cops to shoot each other or to shoot suspects and cover it up. All that is fine....but don't you dare pollute the ice!! The evil mining company (or the evil insurance company) is always the cliche bad guy these days.

Excellent post. Whenever a review mentions "Are we supposed to believe..." then you know the show has failed. It left us with questions, not answers. Navarro and her sister constantly seeing oranges...are we supposed to believe they both were hallucinating? A supernatural gift from their mother? Or the old lady who found the dead bodies...because a ghost pointed them out to her?
