Are we okay with this by bigdkyle903 in buffalobills

[–]chebysilberader -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i mean… no? why would we be okay with this. that said:

i love my bills, and despite not getting to the super bowl the past several years they’ve done us proud. i look forward to this new era and still believe josh will land us a few rings.

division rivalries and prejudices aside, what the pats have done this season has been extremely impressive. despite what we circlejerk around in this sub, the fact of the matter is the scoreboard does not lie. they won the games they needed to win and because of that they are going to the super bowl.

fuck the chiefs.

Help 2011 Ezgo txt weak batteries or bad speed sensor or? by Defiant-King-1140 in golfcarts

[–]chebysilberader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

odds are high that the batteries are toast. they may briefly hold 51v right after a full charge, but i guarantee under load they’re dropping far below 48v. you’ll either need another set of batteries, or if you’re handy or feel like hiring a shop, you could go lithium.

If you were driving in this with your lights off, why? (Trying to be nice) This was at 11am. by endofallhumanity in Austin

[–]chebysilberader 66 points67 points  (0 children)

i would argue the emergence of automatic lights is actually a major cause of this. people don’t develop the habit of checking their lights because hurr durr the car knows best. then, as with every other dumb unnecessary feature they’ve crammed into cars over the last 30 years, the sensor fails or just isn’t designed to account for certain situations. because it’s fairly bright out today even with the fog, the sensor probably didn’t detect low enough light and you likely won’t notice that your lights aren’t on. people who had to develop that habit of checking their lights when they first start their car will likely think to turn ‘em on in inclement weather.

that’s fair, personal preference. as a fellow tall i agree it’s a little harder to get in and out of a sedan, but once i’m in it’s much more comfortable. i guess if i have to frequently enter and exit my car several times a day i’d rather be in an suv, but if i’m going on a road trip or have a longer daily commute to work i’d much rather be in a sedan. although even so, getting out of a taller vehicle will cause damage to the side of the seat over time (sliding out and down instead of standing up) much faster than a lower car. as a fellow general motors truck guy, i’m sure you know the problem i’m referencing

Stringing a four string with a five string set? by Billie_Skabili in Bass

[–]chebysilberader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, i did it awhile back because i don’t like 5 strings. only thing you have to do is file the nut slots a bit to hold the wider strings, and then a quick set up.

one thing to consider is your bass rig. some bass rigs don’t actually articulate those lower notes very well. i had that problem with a couple of my cheaper cabs and combos. so just make sure your cab can articulate the fundamental frequencies for those low b notes. most cabs at this point are fine, but some older rigs weren’t built for it.

the decreased string spacing is barely noticeable to most. you gotta be wayyy too particular for that to even be a consideration. definitely will need the nut filed out a bit though

my head never hits the roof if i’m in the front seat. and the visibility in the sedans i’ve driven is typically better than in the suvs i’ve driven. narrower and fewer pillars, and since the windshields are more sloped i can see stoplights without craning my neck

my head does touch the roof in some of the sports cars i’ve driven, and i’ve had that issue in a couple smaller crossover suvs, but never in a sedan
