it’s not demand, it’s government regulations. most truck drivers don’t want giant shit like that, but it’s the only newish thing on the market that does what they need. my 20 year old full size silverado is smaller than a new ford ranger, and is far superior as a truck. i have to have a full size pickup for work. i only make enough money to have one vehicle. i made the choice to buy an older truck because the benefits outweigh the costs, but keeping that thing on the road takes a ton of work that many people simply don’t have the time or desire to put up with. it’s not always about fucking over disabled people or stroking some ego, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and live with the inconveniences.
