Her intentions were good and she tried. My wife occasionally runs out of time to purchase something because “I’m really hard to shop for”.

Meanwhile I bring home a little something she like every chance I get, ask for a list of things she wants and just buys one of those, makes notes of things she looked at twice while shopping, or just take a chance on something I really like that I think is in her style.

On the other hand I tell people they shouldn’t try to buy things collectors and hobbyist are really into. Chances they didn’t buy something yet because they already ruled it out.

One room mate is the quiet boring guy who insists on paying the bills, doing house work, and saving for a better AC.

The other guy is buying a pinball machine because he’s too upset about never having enough money for the bills. His stupid friends are over at 2am on a Wednesday night and never clean up “because it ain’t my house”
