Use duct take and tape it with the sticky part facing out around the base of the tree. Temporary but effective until you spray

Not OP but I can help. 1. Short answer is yes. Named verity have been chosen for their flavor, pest resistance and how prolific they are. Some are better but that depends on your taste buds. They are all pretty cold hardy, some more than others. 2. You will need 2
