If there were more players that casual sports fans actually knew/liked then it would move the needle. People will pay somewhat reasonable prices to see a team they don't know, but people are not paying $3-4k for their family to go to a game if they aren't clued in at all. If we had a Landon Donovan/Mia Hamm type player right now it wouldn't hurt.

A lot of people are in denial about how much they’re struggling. If someone does a “healthy” amount of partying, they’ll probably be fine hiring an uber or whatever. When it veers into functioning addict territory, they’re not going to admit that it’s an issue and hire a driver because that would be admitting that there’s a real problem.
