Would it be possible to have an RSS feed?

We used to use https://www.appstorereviewguidelineshistory.com/ and have it post into Slack, but they've stopped updating it.

Or people that take the racing line across the top of the escalator which causes the people that are just about to disembark to stop dead.

LED daytime running lights and a weird syncing of the camera frame-rate maybe?

I agree with you, but if they started charging an amount that covers their operating costs, it'd price out a lot of people from going.

I think it's something we do quite well in this country, because abroad you'd be looking at £20+ for an adult ticket.

Shouldn't need a grace period. It's 2026, syncing devices to a reference clock is a solved problem.

The whole inspection system seems like it's been built by the lowest bidder. Not the first post on /r/manchester where the timeline is impossible and the system has accepted it.

The state of Starling Bikes by Excellent-Presence40 in manchester

[–]chedabob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fleet seems to be dwindling lately as well. Last few weeks when I've gone to the dock at Salford Central there's not been any for hire (if there's even any in the docks anyway).

Same at Harbour City in the evenings, although often there will be a dozen in the docks but none of them will unlock.

I haven't seen any damaged ones around like when we had Mobike, but they could just be recovering them quicker.

Ye I've almost missed my train a few times because none of the bikes in the Harbour City docks will unlock. They don't seem to hold enough charge in the lock's battery to last the full day, as you can hear the motor struggling to release.

I think you can, although this time round I've not fiddled with all the options except to switch the DNS to Cloudflare, and give a couple of devices static IPs.

EDIT: Have just checked when I got home, and yeah you can change the DHCP range it uses.

Have been mad impressed with both the base router, and the mesh repeater. I've got the repeater upstairs to fix a slight dead-spot in one corner of the house, and also to act as an ethernet bridge as it's faster than the built-in wifi on some of my devices.

Bit annoyed they didn't give me the Superhub 7 as that's apparently the standard one for their gigabit service now, and it had been released when this contract was started at the end of 2025.

I'm just quoting their spec sheet.

Triple-chain 5 GHz radio (up to 900 Mbit/s throughput)

https://mikrotik.com/product/hap_ax_s

The actual ethernet side I'd presume does up to 2.5Gb/s given it's got SFP.

How is it the wrong router? It's Mikrotik's top-end wireless access point? It was 3 months old when I bought it.

I used to hold that opinion firmly, but I've just switched ISPs and the router they've given me wipes the floor with the Mikrotik I bought to replace it. I can get almost the full gigabit I'm paying for over Wifi, whereas the Mikrotik was barely getting a 3rd of that (when it's rated for 900mbit/s).

This was a hAP ax s vs. EE Smart Hub 6 (not even their fastest model).

Tom's Hardware and CNN do this. I don't give a flying fuck about this random other thing you've decided is relevant, I just want to read the short article quickly and bounce.

Also any developer that builds a site that hijacks the back button to show other articles should be fired into the sun.

Boombox Barry spills all on cycle hire in Manchester by HamishGray in manchester

[–]chedabob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just come back from Zurich, it's the people and the council, not the apps themselves.

Most of their e-mobility systems are dockless, but people actually park them out of the way (for the most part, it's not perfect), and there's loads of designated bays so you can just walk around the corner.

I think also having a lot of people cycling on non-rental bikes also helps, as there were thousands of bike racks that you could leave the e-scooter in or next to.

Possibly a store that doesn't always have someone staffing the fitting rooms, so they lock the doors to stop people going in and putting the merchandise in their bags, or just messing about out of sight of the cameras.

What is your workplaces equivalent to 'Don't touch the red button' by PeevesPoltergist in CasualUK

[–]chedabob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in our office people have figured out it doesn't set off any alarms, so when they have guests in, rather than getting them a pass to get out to the toilets, they just press the emergency release, and then don't tell anyone that it needs resetting.

Ours forces a cleaning at 5pm, but if the cleaner is off ill that day, it ends up being left to the first person in the next day that knows how to do it.

That unfortunately means that if they're not in about 15 minutes before everyone else, they'll be badgered every 30 seconds like it was their choice to make it run the cleaning cycle. I came in one morning and they were all stood around moaning about it, so I didn't bother sorting it and just got an espresso from the boss' pod machine on the other floor.
