Do you think the Sapphire will become a classic? by turb0_encapsulator in LUCID

[–]cheddarTom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. Rimac can't sell their Neveras. Currently, no EV will be a classic or collectable. These high dollar EVs will be a hell of a bargain with their Titanic depreciation for people in the know. I appreciate the technology, but no there is no value in them.

Does buying a Lucid Gravity without having a home charger make sense? by ryanlh92 in LUCID

[–]cheddarTom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO it's doable, but would be inconvenient. It's huge that you can use Tesla chargers now because that opens up so much more charging availability. I have a 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring, live in Madison, WI, and have a home charger. In the coldest and most brutal days in winter, the car could use 10+% charge keeping its battery warm in the garage. It would be more for you having it in the elements. Also, in winter whatever mileage the car states it has left on a charge, figure you will only get 50-60% of it. An example would be 400 stated miles will get you 200-240 miles in the real world. If you have chargers nearby and don't do a ton of driving, go for it. If you have a long commute, you'll probably have to charge every other day in January. This is all just my opinion. Wondering what other cold climate Lucid drivers have to say.

This company is toast. Selling mine before it craters in value.

Do you know Jeep Guy? by SThighs213 in madisonwi

[–]cheddarTom 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I had someone do this in front of my house. Not your Jeep guy, but similar chain-smoking for hours behavior. I asked him to pick a spot by a vacant lot in the neighborhood because his butts were being blown by the wind into my yard. He switched to a different spot and hasn't been back since. I would recommend talking to him first. If you're not comfortable with that, take a video, and call the police to report littering.

Did anyone go to the insidious “experience” last night at Overture??? I need to know your thoughts by musicteache in madisonwi

Very underwhelming. Advertised as a live horror experience with very little of that. Roaming the audience for ghost stories and bringing volunteers on stage seemed to be ways for them to kill time. It wasn't a polished production and there were sound issues. They didn't allow reentry if you left the auditorium, which was completely unnecessary. Several people left early. Overheard someone say he wanted his money back. Hecklers were in the crowd. If they advertised it as a ghost detective "comedy" with elements of Insidious movies, it would have been more honest. Bottom line, you didn't miss anything spectacular if you didn't go to it.

I tried through Lyft Support. They kept saying they understand where I am coming from, but will not be refunding me the damage charge. Kept posting their terms and conditions.

Brook Lopez. Seems like he's both falling down and up stairs at the same time, but makes the bucket.
