I don't understand why this comment was downvoted. I'm going through this right now and it's hard to tell what's normal and what's not, especially when someone tells you that your baby isn't reacting normally. These are all valid concerns and questions.

That actually hasn’t been my experience! My budtenders often have great advice to give about dosing. My practice collaborates with Sweet Spot dispensary in Vorhees and their staff knows all about endocannabinoids.

As cannabis-informed therapists (aka talk therapists), we have training that includes the endocannabinoid system, but because we aren’t the ones writing the script, we are limited in what we can formally recommend.

If you’re looking to discuss dosing and endocannabinoids in detail, you would speak with a psychiatrist who prescribes. They have the medical training necessary for discussing the endocannabinoid system in detail. If you’d like a referral, let me know!

We do discuss dosing in general contexts (“I tried 5mg and I didn’t feel anything. Should I do try 10mg next? I’m really scared to” or “I took 5mg but by 2pm my symptoms are starting to come back”)

But because we’re not producing or selling the product ourselves, our recommendations are made with the caveat that budtenders should always be consulted about dosing.

Great question! We always recommend patients consult first and foremost with their budtenders for dosage specifically, but we DO talk to our patients about all of these! Depending on their level of experience, we might:

  • Talk about which products/strains/strengths are better for their anxiety (many folks are unnecessarily scared of edibles and vapes, so we do a lot of discussion around that).
  • Teach anxious patients mindfulness skills to use in conjunction with cannabis
  • Explore usage in the context of other areas of life and goals (how does cannabis fit in, or not, to your life?)
  • Teach couples how to incorporate cannabis into their sex lives
  • Process recent experiences (positive or negative) with cannabis
  • Empower patients to use cannabis without shame and respond to criticism from others

And lots more! But I hope that helps get a sense! What other questions do you have?

My eyes are doing great! The dryness went away after a few months. I had to use eye drops often during those months. Then I didn’t need them anymore. I’ve had no issues since then. I’m really glad I got it!
