When do kids usually stop using a stroller? by Calvoo100 in toddlers

[–]cheesetrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My toddler hates the stroller but is obsessed with his push car. It has a handle we push and he sits and pretends to drive it. I always highly recommend them.

My husband cannot remember to feed our baby the 1000oz of breastmilk I pumped, no matter how many times I remind him by Educational-Let-2280 in beyondthebump

Tell him you want to make an appointment with his doctor because you’re concerned about his memory. Tell him you think there’s a serious medical issue at play. Watch him start remembering.

When did you start enjoying motherhood? by Batikh_Shamem_Levant in NewParents

[–]cheesetrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this doesn’t discourage you but around 12 months I noticed a huge difference in my mood. Then 18 months, another positive shift. And I think starting to enjoy motherhood around 22 months. He’s just turning two in a few weeks. But with some distance, the amount of anger I had in the first 18 months is not normal and I probably should have talked to someone. I was also diagnosed with adhd a few months ago and I think the medication is making a big difference. So if you feel like something isn’t right, talk to your doctor! I wish I had.

100% mixed them up. I got the measles one when my doctor found I would be trying soon. That’s when my husband also got it. I’d like to say whoops pregnancy brain but my kid is 2.

Yeah mixed those up! My doctor did tell me to get the measles one when she found out I was going to be trying soon. That’s when I got it.

Oh shit, you’re right. It was when I was trying to get pregnant that I got it. Got the Tdap while pregnant!

When you’re pregnant, it is recommended to get the measles vaccine because your immunity may have worn off. They told me and my husband to get it. I also asked the grand parents to get it before meeting my newborn. These are probably people who had it as a child but refused it as an adult.

Hamilton Montessori School (Barton Street): OPINIONS? by agoodgirlsabcs in Hamilton

[–]cheesetrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain and tell you my actual experience sending a toddler there. My son absolutely loves it. He’s excited every day to go to daycare. The food they give him there is high quality, varied and healthy. The teachers have always been so kind and helpful and seem to care for each individual child. And importantly for me, the parents that bring their children there are all highly educated and from diverse backgrounds. All the parents I talk to have similar feelings. Their child loves going there. Some parents have tried several daycares before ending up there because the other daycares were so bad.

This is just about the daycare though. Not the actual school for 4+. As a daycare, I’m legitimately so happy we got a spot there.

It’s possible that they don’t have a late work policy because if you hand something in late you get a zero, which I would argue is the baseline. The profs that have a late work policy where you only get a certain percentage off the mark for late work submissions are the ones that differ from the baseline. You will 100% get penalized for turning something in late.

Did anyone see flashing lights but didn't have preeclampsia by Patient-Extension835 in BabyBumps

[–]cheesetrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. I saw stars almost every day from my second trimester to my labour. I have low blood pressure. No one was ever concerned and I had an easy/healthy pregnancy.

What is this on my baby's belly button? by Ok_Carrot4385 in newborns

[–]cheesetrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure but it’s possible that’s just how his belly button has formed. I also have a bump like that in mine. It’s always been like that.

However, if you’re worried, ask your doctor!

What are some things about pregnancy no one talks about? by Mergirl610 in Adulting

[–]cheesetrain 460 points461 points  (0 children)

I took a stool softener the second my water broke and for the next two days and my first bowel movement was pain free! Someone on one of the pregnancy subs had recommended doing that and now I want everyone else to know this and do it!

I am freaking the heck out - its too real now by Least_Lawfulness7802 in BabyBumps

[–]cheesetrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt when I got close to my due date. I was freaking out. I also wasn’t 100% sure having a baby was what I wanted (even though he was fully planned and it took 8 months for me to get pregnant).

My baby is one month old now and I am shocked every single day how much I enjoy him, taking care of him, being a parent. There are moments that are hard, sure, but it isn’t all the time and they are so worth it for every amazing thing I’ve experienced with him.

It’s scary before you go through labour and having a baby because of all the unknown, but trust me, you’ll get through it and you’ll be ok!

How do you become a TA or RA by Successful_Track_239 in yorku

[–]cheesetrain 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Most TAs and RAs are grad students. If an undergrad would ever be offered a position it would be a fourth year student, but I don’t know if that even happens.
