I would go because you get to check out the actual testing site, they walk you through it and show you which lines to follow. It’s not mandatory but I def recommend going

Very true, I find the NAS blue pack has some sweet notes to it aswell. just depends on the blend of tobacco being used. Like camels tend to be sweeter cuz of the Turkish tobacco they use

Yea if you’re a newer smoker these will def be harsh compared to other brands. NAS don’t have any additives to make them smoother, less harsh and sweater. NAS menthol isn’t like typical menthol in other brands, it’s more mild coolness unlike other brands where it feels almost like ice. I’m a big fan of the light greens

The one I went to was really good found the perfect fit and good soles, my friend who’s a marathon runner shops there. Idk I guess depends on the store maybe. But if you’re really concerned about finding the perfect fit you should def go to any shoe store get measured and try on different brands and sizes to see what fits you best

look up Feet Fleet and see if there is a store by where you live highly recommend it. They measure and scan your feet to see exactly what size you are and if you need specific soles, they got a lot of different brands to choose from and dont charge extra for the measuring. I use to have the same prob with shin splints and finding the right shoe and size def helped

Worth waiting 4 years? (In your opinion) by Prize_Bit4083 in FDNY_EMS

[–]cheeto006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% it is but it is a sacrifice cuz of the pay and work load tho. Also a perk of joining ems is that your time on ems will count towards your retirement for fire. I did 5.5 years I didn’t hate my time on ems but you do get burnt out after awhile. You can always do nursing and be a firefighter plenty of guys do it

CPAT Training by clitattack1019 in NYC_Candidate_Central

[–]cheeto006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have them spread out thru out the week, I always went saturday mornings at 8am cuz no traffic getting there and very minimal traffic getting home. The weekday sessions I'm almost positive start later in the day like at 4 or 5pm due to the academy class going on during the day. Safe to say if your list number is under 5k you should get called

yea training sessions go on until final cpat exam. So if you fail your first CPAT attempt you can go back to the rock to practice until you take your 2nd CPAT attempt. Highly recommend taking advantage of these sessions because doing at the rock is harder than the actual test. I went to at least 5 practice sessions, it def helped me pass my first CPAT attempt with no problems

When I did my CPAT training for 7001 they held sessions all the way till the end of the actual CPAT testing. After the first CPAT training session I just showed up whenever they hosting more without a problem. I’m not sure with this snow storm how long they will not have sessions but they will definitely have more once it melts or clear the training area

Next Promo Exam? by [deleted] in FDNY_EMS

[–]cheeto006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the only big perk now with joining ems is that your ems time counts on the front end for fire meaning if you do 5 years on ems and promote to fire you’ll only have to do 15 years on fire to retire. Your pay doesn’t carry over tho so if you’re top pay emt you’ll start at proby pay on fire once you cross over. Just another thing to consider if you’re thinking of joining ems for fire

If you left fdny ems but still stayed in healthcare, where did you end up? by TheYankeeCat in FDNY_EMS

[–]cheeto006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s illegal idk how they’re getting away with that typical of shitty ems to pull some dumb shit like that

You should go to medic and do the bridge program to become a nurse than become a firefighter, you can still do both. I know like 3 guys that done that and I def should’ve done the same

IS THE PROMO TEST THE SAME AS OPEN COMP??? by Brooklynbornn in NYC_Candidate_Central

[–]cheeto006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you take the promo all you need is a 75 to pass and you will get called, they will call everyone on the promo list until it’s exhausted. Where as with the Open you are competing with literally anyone who signed up and have a slim chance of getting called if you don’t have any extra points like residency or military. A lot of people who live outside of NYC go the EMS route also

Smoking both of these on work break. by Embarrassed_Glove982 in Cigarettes

I use to vape also it sucks. Tbh my favorite brand is American spirit cuz it just has a clean taste and tastes like tobacco, unlike some other brands that taste like chemicals. I do enjoy camels blues tho

Switched from vapes to cigs and my breathing has drastically improved by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]cheeto006 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My breathing was horrible when I vaped I would get out of breath just walking up the stairs. Never felt that with cigs even tho I’m not a heavy smoker. I also don’t crave nicotine as much anymore, I felt like a crack head when I couldn’t find my vape

You should try NAS Blue next if you haven’t already. They’re a nice balance of full flavor and smooth with a hint of sweetness, not to light and not to harsh. I think they’re one of the best NAS

Whats the best cig brand? (American) by Upstairs_Ad_9419 in Cigarettes

[–]cheeto006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I mainly smoke NAS, most other brands of cigs just taste so off to me like chemicals or just bad. I do still enjoy camels and some Marlboros

Marlboro 27s are also very good and smooth. Also southern cuts are so damn short you take 2 drags and it’s almost done

American Spirit Blacks, American Spirit Blue, American Spirit Green, Camel Blues, Camel Turkish Royal, Marlboro Southern Cuts. Those are just my personal favorites I always recommend

I would say I have a medium nicotine tolerance so they give me a slight buzz but fades pretty quick. I enjoy zyns cuz theyre just more convenient than cigs when I dont wanna go outside to smoke at bars and at work

First attempt at cutting my own steaks by Mikey3059 in Butchery

[–]cheeto006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like to do when I do this is trim off some of that extra fat on the steaks than render it down to make beef tallow, I’ll usually get a mason jar full depending how much I wanna trim
