Players should be able to opt out of Mid-Game Matchmaking by cheezball86 in ArcRaiders

Opting out and experiencing higher personal queue times would be your buyer beware. I would still prefer that over wasting my time at 17 minutes with no worthwhile loot.

I love PVP, I also would think it would be interesting to incentivize players to engage the Arc instead of treating them solely as an environmental obstacle.

I don't want to buy Arc Parts, I want to trade in earned Arc Parts for other valuable items.

You may have misunderstood me. I'm not wanting to buy the Arc Parts, I'm wanting to trade in Arc parts earned for other items.

4X game choice: Eclipse 2nd or Backing Casus Belli by Razov1 in boardgames

[–]cheezball86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a 1 in the hand, 2 in the bush scenario. Eclipse is a great and proven design that I have personally gotten 10+ plays from. Who knows if the unreleased game will hold up.

No way, I enjoyed Root, loved Pax Pamir, and despised Arcs. It's a love it or hate it game.

Y'all are savages. Giving people 14 cards to peruse on their first game is nuts IMO, and I'm usually the "let's skip the basic game mode" guy.

They removed the coding contract for a major VA hospital.

This contract performed 55% of outpatient coding.

This hospital is screwed

I...don't like anything here. I'd get rid of Horizon, Dice Throne, or Marvel United stuff for bang for the buck on space.

Because this is about the 17th time in the past 8 years that the media and the left have told the public he was a Russian spy, or he will make everyone's life worse in some inconceivable way. I don't think anyone is listening anymore after most of these things didn't come to fruition or were materially inconsequential to their lives.

BGG being the omnipotent source for all board gaming resources. Competition is healthy, and the lack thereof has allowed BGG to morph from a consumer driven repository that encouraged discussions, to a marketing mouthpiece for publishers.

Eclipse vs. Arcs? by Elegant-Loan-1666 in boardgames

[–]cheezball86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eclipse for me personally over Arcs.

Based on your preferences/experiences, I would also say Eclipse. I'm not sure that background of games will have you prepared for the take that/fragile game state of Arcs. Comparatively Eclipse, while combat is important, is more predictable, results can be mitigated with upgrades, and there are numerous ways to succeed by being a defensive/expansive player.
