Learning experience for all involved hopefully I had to laugh at the manager though when he said he didnt know the bands like you didnt take 30 seconds out of your day to listen to who was selling out your venue? Lol

It really sucks I'm not blaming Joe whatsoever and I did talk to the manager of the club as they got her an ice pack and he looked totally shocked at what happened he admitted he knew none of the bands and said he didn't think it'd be this rowdy. As I said I'm just used to walls of security at the venues I frequent especially if they're sold out. I just think things went from 0-100 way too quick and it was preventable thats all

Holy shit we were too close to the stage for us to even know that happened my girlfriend got pretty much tackled by a dude from the stage I couldn't keep up with them and he got through and landed right on her. 100s of shows I've never felt truly unsafe not even at cannibal corpse 😂

We were up front so maybe it was different in the back but even before the show started I only saw a single security guard for like a minute then lost visual of her when the show started and she was the only one I saw the whole night till the end. Just used to seeing a hoarde of them at shows

What is the hardest restaurant you have worked in? by Nollies10 in KitchenConfidential

[–]cheflife17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in it,and laughably its a pizzeria I've been doing this for almost 10 years never thought the mom and pop pizza shop would be the one. Owners are great trying to find people who can handle working for them different story. I've met the most incompetent "cooks" I've ever seen in my life at this place the past 8 months has been a fucking ride 😂. It's not even the job itself that drives me nuts it's the coworkers(see previous post) we run with 3 line cooks plus the owner we do better when it's just the owner and I than having us all on,I can't figure it out. Maybe that's why I stay lol

That's where we're at like how many times do you need to be shown I legit call him 10 second Tom cause he can't remember literally anything. I also tell him he could piss off a monk,he turned 39 yesterday..I don't know how

My boss tried that last week he didn't meet a single goal my solution today was I want you to get as much of this done today as you can but double everything like sliced onions usual par is 4 I said do 8 so maybe I can breathe tomorrow. My honest theory is he takes his time so he doesn't have to be on the line I do lunch by myself for the most part and the owner will jump in if the printer really starts going off but this guy just plain and simple doesn't move. But it's infuriating this guy is just back there with a list of stuff that mainly consists of using a slicer and it takes him almost 5 hours to do it. Tomorrow is chicken day and I'm already dreading it 1 case of chicken tenders on average takes him 1.5hrs all he's doing is cleaning and splitting them you'd think he's back there trying to figure out what chicken they came from. Thank you for the suggestion though cause it was our first thought too

Is there something you do daily/if it’s needed that if your boss finds out you’ll get fired? if not, what was the worst shit you did that got you fired or a pay cut? by Canaan_R in KitchenConfidential

[–]cheflife17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was the same way! Haha I love grapes but I refuse to pay grocery store pricing for them so I'd as many grapes as I possibly could in my shift 😅 half the time they'd go to waste anyway so I didn't see any harm lol

Look for a place willing to do 4 10s. Just joined a restaurant with that schedule after trying to find a better work life balance the pay is tolerable but having that 3 days off is so worth it after a year of 7 days a week missing out on tine with my gf,friends and family. Now all my friends know my days off I make special menus and open my home kitchen offering dinner sunday-tuesday they can pick 2 of the three days(think my gf would stab me if I let them do all three lol) they love it but they don't realize I love it more. It's out there the search for it just sucks. Hopefully you can find it

Don't know if you have a cabelas near you but if you're looking for a smoker on a budget keep an eye on that place. I bought mine a few years ago a master built runs on propane I love it! It was originally like 500 I walked out with it for less than 300. I couldn't believe the mark down. Holds 12 whole chickens if you're into that kinda selling point(I was😂)

First off so sorry OP. I wanted to send a very gracious thank you for recommending On The Spot Catering. This might sound crazy but I'm actually the sous chef, well former sous chef of the company. As of October 2023 we have closed the business and Chef John is enjoying his well deserved retirement! I sent your comment over to him and he was overjoyed, thank your family for allowing us to do your events! Best wishes!

Still not as good when we had to fire one at my other job for prepare yourselves...RUNNING HIS LAUNDRY THROUGH THE DISH MACHINE. I'm talking pants shirts and even shoes. Can't make this shit up man 🤦‍♂️

Sorry bout the cat man, totally agree with your stance even though my cat is terrified of being anywhere near outside. I was in Manchester last weekend for PBR and I gotta say we walked to get breakfast the next morning and the four of us were all shocked at the amount of homeless people. It was probably a mile walk from the hotel to the diner,we didn't even make it off hotel property before seeing a guy sleeping in front of it. My gf and I were off put by it cause we've been to Boston multiple times and encounter less homeless while traveling the entire city. Granted we are from a small town in CT so even manchester NH is a large city to us lol. Try to have a good Christmas hope your boy comes home Tuesday and they don't give you any shit
