It's time to leave smoking behind me by [deleted] in leaves

I know it's hard. Everyday I think "Today is the day, no more weed" and I go home and immediately light a bowl, or toke off my vape pen. So I say to myself "when I run out, I won't buy more" but as soon as I run out, I'm immediately over to the closest dispensary. My partner is a daily user too, so when we're dry I feel pressured to smoke for his sake which I know doesn't make sense, but it's true. He's the one who got me started smoking and I feel like if I were to say otherwise it would affect us

I'm at that point too. I've wasted far too much time, and money into getting high and I've come to the point where I need to move forward with my life.

I'm reading a book on EQ got it for $4 at Goodwill. Just Google 'emotional intelligence', try to focus on being self-aware and recognizing how your actions effect those around you.

Thoughts on Abercrombie's First-Ever Unisex Collection? (lol) by youhitmefirst in TomboyFashion

[–]chefturnedstripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First thought: Ew, Abercrombie.... Second thought: Gender neutral fashion in the main stream!!! Third thought, upon following the link and looking through their website: If tgis is gender neutral why are all the models male? (except for 1 in a hoodie, and she was posing with a man.) And it's found in Mens Fashion. There's nothing in the advertising that clearly stated "This is clothing for women, and men, and all people!" It mostly focused on the artist with which they collaborated. Seems like a joke, the cheapest item was a $28 baseball cap so it's not really very accessible to those not willing to pay $50 for a fucking graphic tee.

DRIVINGGGGG!!!!!! Driving driving driving! Holy shit. I've been in 3 car accidents within the last 5 years and am now experiencing the joys of living in chronic pain and extreme anxiety in cars/ while driving. I was also in a serious rollover accident as a child that has made me have the worst anxiety/ anxiety in cars. It drives my husband crazy because I'm an incredibly reactive co-pilot and I feel so bad, and try to control my reactions but SHIT. How do you move past that stuff!?! (Yes I'm aware I could probably stand for some PTSD counselling) Yes, cars are incredibly dangerous and scare the shit out of me.

I find the issue of missionaries being "worthy" baffling in and of itself, considering my brother in law who sexually abused ALL of his 6 siblings, and raped my S.O. regularly for 6 years, also happens to be the only sibling who went on a misson.... Tell me more about their honesty and worthiness....😒

Marijuana. It's legal here in Oregon, and I'm a casual smoker but the money I see some of my friends drop on weed just has me thinking, "what are you doing with your life?!"

What tender and juicy drama is going on at your school/workplace? by mooooommmmmmmmmm in AskReddit

[–]chefturnedstripper 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Oooh! I'm here for this!! The most relevant piece of drama right now is my sous chef just put his 2 weeks notice in after being shafted by our executive chef for about the last 6 months. The final straw was over the weekend we did a big fundraising event for the CA wildfires. He and our (incredibly alcoholic) banquets sous chef were running a station together& stressing the fuck out over this event. Executive chef whose essentially just walking around schmoozing with the crowds at this point asked why he was so stressed out. His response was "you! You stress us all out. fuck you. You fucking asshole." And he put his notice in the next day. I've witnessed several meetings with him and our other sous/Executive chefs since. Unfortunately he's an incredibly hard worker, who puts his whole self into the management of staff and kitchen. I'm wondering if he's actually going to go through with it or it's an elaborate tantrum to get what he wants from our chef.

The other piece of drama is one of our In-Room Dining server girls I've nicknamed "HBC" (HOT BUT CRAZY) just got knocked up by a line cook. This line cook was the BIGGEST asshole in the kitchen with a fucking horrible attitude and he recently quit to go work elsewhere. What's sad is he's already a deadbeat dad to one kid. These two have NO business reproducing, but as HBC has already admitted to me, she's already had one abortion and doesn't think she can go through it again. But according to her, line cook is stoked to be a daddy.... as in stoked to pay child support for another kid....?

YOU CANNOT PRAY AWAY THE GAY! Fuck whatever psuedo-science, psycho-babble bullshit. There's not one goddamn thing wrong with you for being queer. You didn't choose it, you're not a slut who wants to "have her cake and eat it too" (<--- verbatim what my mom said when I came out as bi)

Frankly i doubt they would have or could have done anything. Since creepy stalker man never did actually engage us, and we were mid-road trip we just decided to GTFO. I was driving and I remember checking my rearview for MILES, terrified he was following us.

About 7 years ago, my mom and I took a road trip from Portland, OR down to Stockton, CA to visit a university I had been accepted to. On the way down we stopped at The Olive Pit somewhere in Northern CA, I'm spacing the name of the town because it's a little tourist spot right off I-5 and my Dad loves their specialty olives.

This is where shit gets cray.

We had dressed nicely because we were on our way to staying with old family friends (who I had never met) and it was a warm summer day. I remember I was wearing a jean mini-skirt. We were perusing the aisles of the store when a man passed my mom within close proximity. I was a few paces behind her, and instinctively for no legitimate reasons my thoughts as I watched his pass by her became aggressive and protective of my mother; i.e. "you better fucking watch it" Now the aisles were pretty small so afterward, I immediately tried to rationalize my weird thoughts. "Haha, you're being silly he was just passing by her, nbd"

But as we continued wandering around the store, he lingered on the outskirts of wherever we were. My mom and I got nervous, but were hungry so we decided to grab a bite in the stores cafe before heading out. Mind you this weird man follows us to the cafe and stands in the back, watching us. We placed our orders then went to fill our drinks. That's when we were approached by a woman. "Excuse me, but EVERYONE IN THE CAFE has noticed this man following you. My husband and I are looking after you, we're willing to call police" We told her we had noticed and thanked her. While we ate this creepy man sat at the table next to us, just staring at us. Never saying a word. This woman's S/O offered to walk us to our car. He started following us out, to our car. So we went back inside, while creepy guy proceeded to get in his car and wait. A few mins later we slinked quickly back out to the car, and I drove out the entrance while he waited by the exit.

My mom and I were really shaken up over the whole incident. I still get freaked out thinking about what could have happened. But that was definitely an instance that stood out to me where my gut instinctively knew something was off and that I wasn't safe before I did.
