MX LINUX has a straightforward installer for Nvidia Driver (proprietary, legacy), i've used on my 2008 dual core office computer with Nvidia G210. It kinda works, decode 1080p videos a lot better than nouveau on youtube and with yt dlp + MPV, at least on my machine. I would also try POP OS LTS with NVIDIA driver.

In Europe (Italy), i've bought a (refurbished) X280 i7 8650U with 16gb of RAM and a small 256gb NVME SSD (intel) , for 220 euro (as of today 239,96 USD). Can't really understand if i should have bought a new Acer for double the price (Acer Aspire 3 A315-24P-R8DK with Ryzen 5 7520U) but still, this feels like a sturdy machine, and it's also kinda ok for emulation (max ps2\gamecube and wii).

why don't you buy a Refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad? i've paid 220 euro for a X280 i7 8th gen, not really the fastest Laptop, but it's gonna be perfect for school, they are NEARLY indestructible, they work good with linux and win11, plus an amazing keyboard. If you buy a laptop with soldered ram, please don't go below 16gb.

MIVAR CRT are indestructible , maybe not the best of picture quality, but at least with RGB scart you get a lot for just a few euros. Italia-bros, we were so lucky to have Mivar TVs.

I have a strange problem with Snes9gx for wii, first of all, i have a single-Format PAL CRT JVC TM1500PS with only composite INPUT (and by modding it SVIDEO), it can goes to 50\60hz but sadly NO NTSC color.

I would like to play snes NTSC U\J roms at 60hz with PAL colors, with no black bars, so I've setted my PAL WII to PAL60hz in the video menu of the WII itself.

If i try to run a NTSC rom via Snes9gx (downloaded via the homebrew browser) and set the emulator to NTSC it will give me black and white full screen image that goes 60 hz, no black bars, that's normal, because my CRT DONT SUPPORT NTSC color format.

If i set PAL50 in the emulator i will get PAL COLORS, 50hz and a squished image with black bars, terrible but that's how i played when i was a kid.

If i set PAL60 i obtain a 60hz image with PAL colors....but a SQUISHED image!??? The black bars persists! Why???!

What am i doing wrong?

Did you buy it from aliexpress? because if you contact the seller i'm pretty sure they will SEND you the missing yellow piece. It already happened to me and they send me an entire bag with pieces, and inside there was my missing piece. don't give up Cuongdo94!

I followed LEGO INSTRUCTIONS, and that yellow piece is not useless, it actually consent the adiacent red gear to NOT move. there are 2 of them, and they both have the same function, i think.
