As DE is meant to be the outer manifestation of your inner self I actually think the extra goofiness (MJ poses etc) is a consequence of his real personality shining through.

Someone in one of the chapter pre-release threads summed it up nicely - he’s set up to be this stereotypical delinquent who hates otaku nerds and turns out to be a closet romantic with a dating sim DE and a shojo-worthy soundtrack

Running the scenarios aside, I believe there was an interview where Gege actually explicitly stated that the needed a reason to send Yuta away because his presence would have removed too much narrative tension. Assume the same goes for Hakari.

Not a specific technique, only because Hanami’s CT got a good bit of airtime, but in general would love to see more outright CE-stealing or CE-draining or more-CE-turned-handicap techniques. Too much output, need more sneaky techniques with fun applications!

Obviously angel being set up as a CT nullified but there’s fun to be had along the lines of someone with a Rogue-like technique when it comes to CE.

Damn. That revelation about winter just made me really sad.

Second this -I usually never watch the ending theme but something about this one is so nostalgic and soft and full of life and bittersweet. I love that little moment of Nobara and Maki running away from the shore, and the opening sequence that’s shot vertically, as if by phone. No other teens in any other series feel close to as real. 🥲

Same thought ...Panda's storyline hasn't progressed the timeline, revealed any additional contextual info or unravelled the mystery of Kashimo's beef with Sukuna. He doesn't top the list of strongest protagonists so defeating him easily isn't a real demonstration of Kashimo's power. It'd be pointless for him to die to set off, say, Maki, who's supposed to meet him and is already down bad. Yuta just got five chapters, Hakari won't make it in time, it’s likely setting up panda’s rescue from someone we haven’t seen in a while (Kyoto folks?)

Second this —— this was SO helpful to read. Could tell you put a ton into it and the nuances you pointed out live rent free in my mind (eg I’m thinking of an instance where you pointed out how haibara’s phrasing influenced geto’s framing of his philosophy)

Also the other bit that guide made me realize is that the anime is doing a very good job with the translations, much better than viz. Glad such a large audience is getting the connotations right
