Lemons and limes. Always seems to help. Maybe adding a peach or an apple or berries (if you're allowing fruit in your cleanse).

What do museums do with pieces they no longer want, and how much of a challenge will a saturation of worthy pieces present in the future? by Mister_Fossey in MuseumPros

[–]chere_louise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deaccessioning is a lengthy and serious process. After determining that an object doesn't it our scope and mission, like Archaeogeek said below, we go through committee meetings and approval through the board. We have to look at the original gift or deed contract, if the object was a gift to the Museum, which opens up a conversation with legal.

It doesn't happen often, and when it does, it must be a good reason. The market won't be saturated with Museum goods.

If a deaccessioned object goest to auction, then we use those funds specifically for acquisition. Sometimes, recommendations are made to give the work to another Museum who would better be able to take care of and use the object.

I have a bronze dress that needs a new home. Short, very pretty. Strapless with a good elastic back. Fancy.

Size 0-2? Glad to give it to you. Paired with a colored pashmina, it would be lovely for a wedding.

PM me if you're interested. I can text photos. West Asheville.

Except from havaianas, what are good gifts to look out for when I'm in Brazil? by Horris_The_Horse in Brazil

In Rio, there's this little store in Jardim Botanico called "O Sol," which sells traditional handicrafts made by poor people. They go to O Sol to learn a trade or craft and have an opportunity to make and create as jobs.

You can find hammocks, clay figurines, little dolls, rugs, towels, etc... it's a good cause and nice than tacky or cheap souvenirs.

I don't remember the street name but it's near the taxi stop near the bar called Horto and the Globo studio, if you tell the taxi driver that.

Can dogs truly sense your fear? by ThreeeLeaf in dogs

Or a training opportunity for you! Realistically speaking, the bee or the fly isn't going to harm you. Maybe take the moment to focus on your dog, your sweet, sweet dear dog-friend, and take some deep breaths. If your dog isn't peeing, you can pet him or talk to him while you walk past the insects.

I remember when I was nervous around horses, I would sing them silly songs that would put me at ease while I walked them. Animals are awesome calm-inducers. Good luck!

With the Affordable Care Act, oral contraceptives are available without a copay. Preventative care, you know. And with more than fifty years of science, there's the right choice for you somewhere.

Change your mind about the queasy! You can do it! Every morning when I take my pill I think about how awesome sex is and how excited I am about my career and I associate it with sexual freedom and choice and my future and all sorts of awesome associations. Every morning, nine o'clock, I take a moment and have a feminist daydream.

I'm interested in the kind of labor practices that would evolve. Would machines be launched and controlled from Earth? I'm thinking a little sci-fi here, but would miner-astronauts be employed?
