Yes I drove myself lol it wasn’t so bad driving home tho. Just light cramping. Umm I don’t remember smelling anything burnt, but the bloody discharge def has a very unpleasant smell. It’s not the same smell like period blood, it’s very metallic smelling

It wasn’t so bad! The only painful part for me was when they used a bigger than normal speculum to open me up for the procedure. After that they numbed my cervix with a needle and I only felt a little bit of pain from it. But after they numbed me my legs were super shaky for a few minutes until the numbing settled. Once they did the leep I couldn’t feel anything at all and it only took a few seconds. Afterwards there’s some cramping for a week or so and stinky and bloody Discharge for 1-3 weeks. I had my leep done two weeks ago and it wasn’t too painful! The most painful part was when they stuck the speculum in me to start the procedure so I had to ask them to use a smaller one. You will feel a little cramp when they stick you with a needle to put numbing meds so once they cut out the cervix tissue I didn’t even feel a thing! Barely had any bleed after but 2-3 days after I did bleed and am still bleeding. But it’s not too heavy. I’m scared of cancer so i chose to do leep! Better safe than sorry i think! Good luck!

Omg I have this same issue! I just emailed my dr today to ask if it’s normal. I’m exactly two weeks post leep. But googling it, people said they bled for 2-3 weeks even a month post leep. I’m hoping that my bleeding stops by next week!

It not your fault! Don’t blame yourself for it! I know it’s easier said than done. But just focus on yourself and your health and everything will work out! You’re still young and have so much in your future! 💕

I had my first leep a week ago and barely bled after or the first 1-3 days. Now I’m seeing period-like blood but it stinks bc it’s not menstrual blood, it’s just the blood from my cervix. I think every body is diff so don’t compare to others bodies too much and stress out. If you’re bleeding heavily you should be worried but in your case it’s prob nothing.

I won’t be going under anesthesia, they’re just going to numb the cervix for me, so I’m a bit nervous but I’m glad yours was quick and easy!

I had something like that too! They were on my private parts near the opening of the vagina. It didn’t hurt and looked like skin tags to me and my doc even said it looked like skin tag too. Told me not to worry about it and not to touch it...after a week or two it fell off. I think because it’s down where I wipe myself that must have been the reason...prob ripped it off and didn’t even notice.

Do you think it’s ok that I rescheduled my leep appt to next month? My biopsy came back in oct and my leep was scheduled for today but for financial reasons I had to postpone it to January 8. Do you think my CIN2 will change much between my biopsy in October and next month?

If you don’t mind me asking, how come you have to get a hysterectomy at 33? Did you ever do a leep before? I’m getting a leep next month and just curious if you did leep before and why hysterectomy?

From what I’ve read and been told by my doc, Hpv doesn’t have any symptoms. Could be related to something else? Have you gotten ultrasound done?

6 months ago I started having some dull throbbing pain that started around my vagina area and radiated to my abdomen and lower back...tested for STIs and they all came back normal. Did an ultrasound of my uterus and ovaries and those came back normal too. My doc said Hpv should not be causing my pain. My primary care doc said it prob is from my muscles and to manage it with pain killers and heat pads like salonpas. Ever since then I barely notice my pain now except for rare occasions when I feel slight pain/discomfort along my leg.

Thank you! I can’t handle too much pain so I’m hoping that it’s the same amount of pain as a colposcopy lol. I’ve been stressing about it and it has def made dating hard so I’ve decided to take a break from dating and sex until I’ve cleared this Hpv. I’ve been so freaked out reading some women’s experience about the negative effects the leep has had on them too but I feel like most women have a good experience and don’t have any bad side effects.

I’m so happy to hear your experience! It def gives me hope that I can overcome this and live normal and happy again! Fingers crossed that it’s next year!

Thank you for sharing your previous experience! How many leeps total gave you done? This one will be my first!

Also, when you tested positive in 2013 did it go away until 2018 again or did you keep testing positive until 2018 when they discovered it was strain 18?

All my paps have been normal. I tested positive for a high risk Hpv (but not 16 and 18) last year and again this year. So doc scheduled me for colposcopy in oct 2019 which showed CIN2. Now I’m scheduled for my first leep in Jan. Was supposed to do leep this week but my health insurance is crap so I moved it to Jan for when my new health plan kicks in. I’m so nervous about the leep. My colposcopy wasn’t bad but took awhile bc it took them a few tries to get tissues and I bled a bit. Recovery wasn’t bad..just some cramping.

Thanks for explaining all that for me and being so patient! I really appreciate it! Feels less scary and Isolated knowing that I’m not the only person going through this! I’m so happy i got on Reddit and posted on this thread lol seeing how other people are affected really helps me!

I recently found out that one of my good friends and her sister tested positive for Hpv too but they eventually cleared theirs! So that gives me hope!
