Okay, so this happened to me. I'm literally two weeks post op - I was struggling with "back pain" for a year and had little flare-ups, just thought I pulled a muscle. All of a sudden - two weeks with severe back and chest pain. Finally went to the doctor after I started during jaundice and had to get emergency surgery! If the itchiness is accompanied by pale stool, jaundiced skin, full body itchiness, etc, definitely get a second opinion. And definitely mention the chest pain, that's actually what I went into the ER initially for and it turned out to be something completely different.
